Executive Team Performance Standards

Executive Team members will be accountable for the standards set out in the general
Management Performance Standards, in relation to the following areas:

Diversity and inclusion


Staff management
Monitoring and supporting staff and improving performance
Financial and resource management
Health and safety management

Each of the above contains additional enhanced standards for senior managers.

In addition, the following standards in relation to corporate management and leadership


apply.

Performance standards relating to corporate management and governance

Participates fully and effectively in all corporate strategic planning exercises


Leads on the development of clear and appropriate strategies within own areas of
operation, involving all stakeholders
Identifies and regularly and reliably reports against indicators of success for own
areas of operation
Regularly reviews key risks within own areas of responsibility, including financial
risks, and implements appropriate controls
Provides timely updates to all governance, planning and risk management tracker
exercises
Prepares good quality and timely papers for Executive Team, Board and Sub-
Committee meetings
Reads papers in advance and is well prepared for meetings
Contributes knowledgably ,constructively and appropriately to all agenda items and
topics of discussion
Effectively services the sub-committee(s) relating to own function (pre- and post-
meeting actions)
Manages relationships with Board and individual trustees effectively
Participates reliably and effectively in Executive Team joint responsibilities/rotas (e.g.
attendance at Outside In meetings)

Performance standards relating to visible and engaging leadership

Prepares and reliably delivers engaging Core Induction sessions


Ensures that all managers are regularly updating their team via team briefings and
core briefs at team meetings
Ensures that all managers are consistently supporting their staff to attend
consultation and involvement events
Maximises opportunities for face-to-face engagement with staff in own directorate,
visibly demonstrating an open door approach
Participates regularly and reliably in staff engagement activities in the wider
organisation (including rota of ET visits to team meetings, monthly staff consultation
meetings)
Maximises opportunities to visit services to meet and engage with clients and staff
Takes personal responsibility for ensuring that client and staff feedback and
comments are collated, reported, and responded to.
Adheres to St Mungos agreed internal communications protocols

Performance standards relating to external promotion and relationships

Proactively identifies and builds positive relationships with individuals and bodies
who can further the interests of St Mungos and our clients.
Actively seeks opportunities to promote St Mungos, including speaking
engagements, articles and interviews, awards and accreditations.
Regularly reports back to key internal stakeholders on the outcomes of networking
activities
Adheres to St Mungos agreed external communications protocols
