3. A cement block of weight 300N is pulled along an inclined plane of a
workshop as shown in Figure 3. The inclination of the plane to the horizontal
is 300. Find the force required to pull it parallel to the plane, if the coefficient
of friction between the block and the surface is 0.25.

4. A car of weight 5000N moving at a speed of 35m/s is stopped suddenly in 7s


by applying the brakes. Evaluate the braking force and the power developed.

5. A lift is used to move 8 passengers from the first floor of a department store
to the second. The second floor is located 5m above the first floor. The
average passenger mass is 60Kg. Determine the work done by the lift to
move these 8 passengers.
