Participants of the Schneider Electric FSEC training course will receive, upon successful completion, a FS
Engineer (TV Rheinland) certificate.
Course Instructors are approved FS Experts (TV Rheinland) in SIS according to the requirements of
the TV Rheinland Functional Safety Program.

Who should attend: Engineers involved in any part of the SIS Safety Lifecycle
Course duration:
Four (4) days - The first three days are classroom setting instruction that provides detailed information and
examples/discussions for understanding and mastering the requirements of IEC61508 / IEC61511 functional
safety. Evening study time and problem solving is recommended.
Exam:
The last day consists of a two-part examination:
A- 130 multiple choice questions
B- 5 working problems
Training Investment:
Total price per participant for USA venues is US $3,200(Includes course material, registration fees and TV
Rheinland certificate) For international venues, pricing will be established in local currency by our local office.
Course and exam: Participants who complete the Schneider Electric FSEC training course continuously in an
Instructor-Classroom setting and meet the approval criteria for the proficiency examination on management of
functional safety, safety instrumented systems, are eligible to receive a FS Engineer (TV Rheinland)
certificate.

TV Functional Safety Training for Engineers
TV Rheinland Assessment: Upon review of the final exam documents and verification that all the eligibility
requirements have been met, TV Rheinland issues the FS Engineer (TV Rheinland) certificate.
Archiving: TV Rheinland officially archives exams and documentation of each holder of a FS Engineer (TV
Rheinland) certificate.
Internet Posting: Successful participants of the Schneider Electric FSEC training class who are holders of a
FS Engineer (TV Rheinland) certificate will receive an ID number from TV Rheinland, which is also depicted
on their certificate, and will be listed on the www.tuvasi.com internet site. The listing will positively identify and
confirm the status of the FS Engineer (TV Rheinland) certificate. (i.e. valid, pending, canceled, revoked)

Day 4
Comprehension and mastering of the Schneider Electric FSEC training course material will be verified by a 4 to
5 hour proficiency examination consisting of 130 multiple choice, and 5 working problems. The overall passing
criterion is 75%.
Participants who complete the FSEC training course continuously in the Instructor-Classroom setting,
meet the eligibility criteria according to the TV Rheinland Functional Safety Training Program and
pass the proficiency examination, are eligible to receive a FS Engineer (TV Rheinland) certificate.
