MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE EDUCATION FACULTY
INDONESIA UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION
2015
School : Senior High School

Grade/Semester : 11th grade/1st

Subject : Natural Science (Biology)

Time Alocation : 1 x 45 Minutes (1 Meeting)

A. Core Competences :
3. Understand, apply, analyze factual, conceptual, and procedural knowledge, based on their curiosity about science, technology, art,
culture, and humanities with human insight, national, state, and civilization-related causes of phenomena and events, and apply the
procedural knowledge in the field of specific study according to their talents and interests to solve the problem

B. Basic Competence :
3.2 Analyzing the various processes in cells include: transport mechanism in the membrane, diffusion, osmosis, active transport,
endocytosis, and exocytosis, reproduction, and protein synthesis as a basic for understanding a bioprocess in living systems.

C. Indicators :
3.2.1. The students should be able to identifiy membrane transport mechanism as a basic understanding a bioprocess in living systems
3.2.2. The student should be able to identify the differences between active and passive membrane transport mechanisms as a basic
understanding of bioprocess in living systems.
3.2.3. The students should be able to analyze membrane transport mechanism and relate it to the events that occur in daily life

D. Learning Objectives :
1. After notice the teacher demonstration and video about transport phenomena in daily life, the 11th grade students should be able to
identify the types of membrane transport mechanism that can be found in daily life.
2. After discuss about membrane transport that demonstrate by teacher, 11 th grade students should be able to describe the types of
membrane transport.
3. After discuss about membrane transport mechanism by use the worksheet, 11 th grade students should be able to differenciate
active and passive transport mechanism.
4. After discuss about membrane transport mechanism by use the worksheet, 11 th grade students should be able to explain about
osmosis and diffusion concept.
5. After discuss about membrane transport mechanism by use the worksheet, 11 th grade students should be able to differenciate
osmosis and difussion transport mechanism.
6. After discuss about membrane transport mechanism by use the worksheet, 11th grade students should be able to communicate their
discuss result in front of the class.
7. After watching video about membrane transport mechanism, 11th grade students should be able to relate daily life phenomenon
with membrane transport mechanism concept.
8. After watching video about membrane transport mechanism, 11th grade students should be able to conclude about membrane
transport mechanism.

E. Learning Content :
Membran Transport Systems
Passive transport is the transport of ions, molecules, compounds from outside or inside the cell without the help of energy
1. Difussion : Passive movement of molecules of high concentration to low concentration solution
2. Osmosis : Movement of solvent through selective permeable membrane from a high concentration to the low
concentration solvent
3. Facilitated difussion : facilitated diffusion
Active transport is the uptaken or transfer of a substance with a concentration gradient and requires
energy
1. Endositosis : Inclusion of material from the cells using cell energy
2. Eksositosis : Spending material from the cells using cell energy
F. Approach and Method
1. Approach : Guided Inquiry approach; Cooperative learning
2. Method : Demonstration; Discussion; Questioning; Task assignment

G. Media and Refference

1. Media : Blackboard, LCD, computer/laptop, video animation, real objects
2. Refference :
a. Kistinnah, et al. (2009). BSE Biologi Makhluk Hidup dan Lingkungannya SMA/MA Kelas XI. Pusat Perbukuan Departemen
Pendidikan Nasional.
