Most people like to eat chocolates. There are many types of chocolates sold in shops.
Some are plain milk chocolates. Some have nuts or raisins in them. Chocolates come in a
variety of shapes too. There are even chocolates in shapes of turtles. Have you ever
wondered how a bar of chocolate is made?
Cocoa trees grow well in countries with hot climate. There are many cocoa
plantations in Malaysia. First of all, the cocoa farmers harvest the ripe cocoa fruits. The
cocoa pods are cut to remove the beans. The beans are then placed in a container until
they turn brown.
The brown beans are then dried under the sun. After that, they are packed into
sacks. They are sold to factories. The cocoa beans are then ground into paste. Sugar, milk
powder and cocoa butter are added.
The mixture is then processed in a machine called conche. The chocolate
mixture becomes very fine. It is then poured into moulds. Finally, the chocolate bars are
checked and then wrapped.

bags because it was time to go home. There were dark clouds in the sky and it looked as

Homemade Kaya
Ingredient
3 eggs
2 egg yolks
150g sugar
250ml thick coconut milk
3-4 screwpine leaves (pandan leaves)
Steps
Break the eggs into a mixing bowl.
Add in egg yolks. Beat it until the yolks and whites are blended.
Add sugar and keep on stirring until it dissolved.
Slowly add thick coconut milk and continue beating. Sugar must be dissolved and
coconut milk must blended.
Place a pot of water over the stove and boil it.
Put container with this prepared ingredient in the centre of the pot.
Use a wooden spoon to stir it for about 40-50 minutes.
Make sure the screw pine leaves is in it too.
When the mixture turns thick golden brown, it is ready.
Cool it before you put it into jam jars.
