hfb file
on the stability which is abnormal behavior,
Please note, mentioning the IPRAN alarms only don't mean that it's only the
alarms
which not exist on the hfb file, we need your help to check that al types
of
alarms are existing on this file, we should have on daily based all types
of
alarms listed on the hfb file which mentoring by the customer on daily
based,

There is a configuration file which contains the list of alarms to be

extracted.
In this configuration file , if needed, the user can add new alarms in this
list.
This configuration file is located in:
/opt/nortel/config/stability/utran/defaultAlarmDataExtract.cfg
In order to get IPRAN hearbeat alarm in HFB stability file, the following
filter
is to be added in defaultAlarmDataExtract.cfg file.
ALARM = (MOCLASS=VirtualInterface)
(ProbableCause=communicationsProtocolError)
(EventType=communications)(SpecificProblem=HEARTBEAT FAILURE)
After modifying defaultAlarmDataExtract.cfg with above filter details; hfb
stability file will collect the IPRAN hearbeat informations.

For your reference , here attaching the cfg file which has been modified
to serve
the need of missing alarm.

As mentioned in the trailing mail, by modifying this cfg file, you can get
any
alarm added in the hfb stability file.
Hfb stability file doesn't have any limitation on the size and number of
alarms as
per my understanding.

I checked the command and it's working and the output include the IPRAN,
I'll wait
tomorrow till tomorrow also to be more validated,
I want to check with you for the other alarms related to the IPRAN, like
the below
, as I want to include them also, i added the below lines and 1st is
working fine
and the 2nd related to the ETH ports is not working, can you check it
please,

I took HFB for last week to try to list all types of alarms to be
checked/added to
daily hfb stabilty files, please check attached and validate that the
script

Hello Karim,
This is the command to verify manually. Hope this will help you .
Go to the path:
/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran
And execute this command
./ utranAlarmDataExtract.sh -o /tmp/hfb_xxx.csv
/tmp/hfb_xxx.csv - this is the output path, you can give any required path
here, I
chose it to be /tmp path, it can be different too.
Run this command in the shell folder.

Customer checked today and found that IPRAN failure alarms is coming in
HFB files
in stability file after modifying the .cfg file.
But again saying that when they check other alarms like the below , they
want to
include them also (highlighted in RED), but when they added the below lines
as 1st
is working fine they found that 2nd line related to the ETH ports is not
working.

HW ETHERNET LINK FAILURE is related to actual link failure. It may not be

seen in
network. Whereas IPRAN failure is logical failure of link due to Heartbeat

response that is not coming back from RNC.
Can you please confirm if any actual link failure exists or not and update
us.
We are checking if we can add all those alarms on cfg file. Please give us
some
time on this. We will get back to you.

Hi Pravin
If the customer wants to add the list of alarms in the cfg file, It may
affect the
export time taken for the hfb_xxx.dat file.
The cfg file contains the list of the alarms for DEFAULT configuration. If
we add
many entries to this cfg file, based on the alarms raised from NEs(BTSs,
RNCs) ,
the export time taken may be increased.

Hello Karim,
I have showed you how WMS product can export 24 hours HFB.
Now you can develop your own shell script to keep/remove exports as you
want and
add the script execution in crontab. Shell scripting something generic not
product
specific.

Also if we will add it like that on the crontab the file be overwritten
every day
and we need to keep it, please check how to change the file name every day
to
include the day of run i.e ''HFB24Hours-20150606T0800'"

Hello Karim,
To be precise, you can add the below cronjob at say 1 am each day.
/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh -o
/tmp/24hoursHFB.csv
-filteralarm none
This should extract last 24 hours HFB of all type of alarms which are
present at 1
AM each day.. This will be equivalent to stability even more to include all
type
of alarms which exactly you want.

On behalf of Pravin:
Customer wanted to add all alarms in stability HFB.
We later realized they basically need 24 hours of HFB of all type of alarms
not
necessary they be part of stability.
So, we suggested them below to add their crontab to running it at 1 am each

day.
"/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh -o
/tmp/24hoursHFB.csv
-filteralarm none"
Then they collect the file /tmp/24hoursHFB.csv . This should include all
exactly
what they want.
This way I think we save stability to be manipulated which I think is not
recommended as you hinted in your last mail.
Now customer feedback This solution seems OK for them but they say adding
it like
that on the crontab the file be overwritten every day and they need to keep
it. So
they ask us to check how to change the file name every day to include the
day of
run i.e ''HFB24Hours-20150606T0800'". They say this will make it a complete
alternate to stability manipulation & they will agree to close the AR.
We realize this can be done by a shell script but we don't have WMS LAB in
L2
support lab here in Mumbai.
Can you please make script to do that, test in your platform and send us.
This way
we hope we will be able to close the AR.

manual
insertion of all type of alarms in the stability confguration files so
