1. Introduction
Milk Collection System is windows application for maintain milk collection record by
farmers account member at village level.
In system there will be two categories of farmer i.e having cow, buffalo animal.
The operator, admin both can operates the system with valid authentication.
System allows admin to add and delete farmers records also can set milk rates and add
items.
Once farmer brings milk to center, the operator sets date and shift after that operator
enters unique member number of farmer and other parameters like weight(in
liters),FAT etc.
On the basis of milk rate chart system automatically calculates payment and also print
milk rate receipt which will be given to farmer and these record will stored within
system.
System should allow operator and admin to print daily report of milk collection.
System also provide facilities for farmers to purchase products like animal feed ,
cotton cake ,butter etc. which are added by admin in system.
System also allows print payment report of farmer periodically including deductions.

2. Problem Identification
i. Problem 1:
a. Problem: Currently the procedures for this calculations being done
manually. Error in manual calculation thus directly loss to farmer
community.
b. Cause:
i. Lack of experience and human error.
ii. Less accuracy.
ii. Problem 2:
a. In contrast, village dairy cooperative societies pay farmers on the
basis of the weight and fat content of the milk. This discrepancy in
payment systems means farmers are paid less for their milk based
on the fat-to-weight ratio than the district union pays village
cooperatives for the same milk.
b. Cause:
i. No receipt were provided to the farmers.
ii. Lack of transperancy.

3. Why it is important to solve these problem(s)?

As the existing system is manual , data is stored manually.
To keep track of each document, record searching is very fast.
To facilitate direct communication between rural area people and dairy management.
The new system is required to reduce the manual work and time.
View Reports daily basis such as shift reports.
The manual system requires more time for processing.
The system is user friendly and anyone having computer knowledge can handle it
easily.

4. Is the solution of these problems complex?

No there is not much challenging regarding this issue as it not requires any heavy
computing instead it is based on windows system so its standalone one can use it at
his personal PC by just installing the application.
While working with system programmatically needs low computing. Everything must
be standalone i.e. there should be no restrictions on no. of users and animals etc.
There are no. of steps which a programmer might feel challenging which includes:
i. The input for Milk details has to be taken in either of these two means :
1. Entering data manually
ii. Once farmer brings milk to center, the operator sets date and shift after
that operator enters unique member number of farmer and other
parameters like weight(in liters),FAT etc.
iii. In system there will be two categories of farmer i.e having cow,
buffalo animal.

5. Likely solution(s) of these problem?

A solution should fir all aspects of problem solving. Firstly it should work in
all conditions (physically or technically). It should be economically,
technically, operationally and behaviourally feasible. Some suggested
solutions to these problems are:
i. A separate muster ids provided to each farmer of the milk collection
centre.
6. Study of Internal Environment
Single alone system with user friendly GUI. So management of inner staff
which includes training, illustrations is easy without hectic.
This system is primarily intended for Milk collection so involvement of other
department is no issue. Rest if extension of this system occurs in further

pg. 3
B.Tech. (AIT) Assignment EXPL 412

future, it would result in no or less dispute as it is currently computing runtime

and as a single alone system.

7. Study of External Environment

Customer/User: Operator or Admin.
Villagers
Single alone system so no server requirement or third party requirement.

8. Problem of:
a. Reliability
In developing any system there is a problem of reliability. The developed
system must be reliable. The system should produce correct output so that
the people using that system should rely on it. Suppose the user totally rely
on system expecting the accurate output but the system produce wrong
results then in that case it will create problem. So the system must produce
correct output.
Existing system is reliable upto some extent. While proposed system is
planned to maintain the reliability issues with valid inputs.

b. Validity
Validation checks that the product design satisfies or fits the intended use
(high-level checking), i.e., the software meets the user requirements.
Existing system if overlooked its limitation produces valid result. Proposed
system is under developing phase but problem of validity will be kept in
mind while developing

c. Accuracy
The accuracy of system is the degree of closeness of measurements of a
quantity to that quantity's true value.
Correct output on valid inputs will be the key focus point while developing
this system.

d. Economy
The developed system must be economical to use. The system should
cheap and feasible to purchase and use. Suppose we want to do some
calculations and for this we buy some software but the cost of purchasing
it is more than the value of the result which we will be getting from the
software then the system is of no use.

pg. 4
B.Tech. (AIT) Assignment EXPL 412

Software and technology used is costly. For e.g. Visual studio is software
need a license agreement.

e. timeliness
In project development everything we do is measured by time.
System is low computing but produces fast result on button click(s).

f. capacity
Propose System do calculations on runtime thus requires very less memory
utilization. But further future changes may increase memory requirement
to some extent.

g. Throughput
Throughput is the rate of production; the rate at which something can be
processed.
Development of Proposed system will keep this point in focus to develop a
system with immediate output.

9. Comparison of Existing System with Propose System

Current System

District unions buy milk from village cooperative societies and pay on
the basis of weight and average FAT content of the milk.
Current System is Totally Manual.
Farmers supplies milk twice a day in village cooperative societies.
The primary reason for the difference in the type of analysis used for
payment appears to be the fact that equipment to measure FAT content
has thus far been prohibitively expensive and unaffordable for village
dairy societies.
Existing System uses registers to maintain the records of farmers milk
records , payment etc.

Proposed System
Proposed system offers Rural Area People Survive option

pg. 5
B.Tech. (AIT) Assignment EXPL 412

Proposed system will cause Paperwork Reduction.

Proposed system will be containing GUI for interaction results in better
working experience (no need to remember and type commands).
Proposed system also fascinates communication between rural area
people and dairy management.
Proposed system has daily bases report facility.
Proposed system will about to encourage the dairy industry.

10.Advantage of Problem Identification in SDLC
It helps n pinpointing the problems like setting proper system goals,
determining the boundaries of the project by taking into consideration the
limitations of the available resources.
Before any further steps can be taken up, the problem must be stated in clear
and unambiguous words,
