NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE SECOND GENERAL PTA ASSEMBLY HELD SUNDAY,

JULY 16, 2017 AT THE CITY AUDITORIUM

The PTA General Assembly was called to order at exactly 1:19 in the afternoon. It started with
the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, San Carlos City Hymn, and a prayer given by Mrs.
Rebecca G. Toralballa. It was attended by the PTA Officers, parents and guardians of the students, faculty
members headed by the principal Dr. Jocelyn M. Sumilhig. To formally open the assembly, Mrs. Cleofe
C. Villarante gave the opening remarks.

First on the agenda was the PTA Financial Report. It was discussed by Mr. James Silva, PTA
Treasurer. He showed the Financial Statement of the monthly contributions of the parents from July 2016
June 2017. He presented a breakdown for transparency and for the parents to be aware of the proceeds.
He added that the contributions of the parents greatly helped in the different PTA projects and salaries for
the PTA funded employees.

Next on the agenda was the presentation of the PTA projects for S.Y. 2015 2016 by the JLNHS
PTA President, Mrs. Ruth L. Aba. She enumerated the different projects of the PTA starting with the
procurement of 200 armchairs, 2 units of water tank, 1 unit water pump and different clinical supplies
such as hospital bed, crutches, wheelchair and medical supplies. She also presented the breakdown of the
different financial assistance given by the PTA. For S.Y. 2016 2017, she added that there are 320 pcs. of
armchairs that were purchased and were delivered yesterday. She encouraged the parents to pay their
monthly contributions of 30 pesos per month which will greatly help the school and for the next PTA
projects.

After the presentation of the PTA Projects, Ms. Estela S. Mahinay, School Guidance Counselor,
reminded the parents about the Random Drug Testing which will be scheduled on July or August this
year. She explained to the parents the guidelines and purpose of the said activity and that parents should
not worry about their children. She assured about the secrecy and security of the students especially those
who will be chosen randomly for the drug testing.

Next on the agenda was the Department Chairpersons Update. The different Department Heads
enumerated the different activities that they are going have for this school year. They also asked the
parents to support the activities of the school and also their children.

Next is the Principals Time. Dr. Jocelyn M. Sumilhig first thanked the PTA Officers , teachers,
and parents for their presence in the meeting. She encourage the parents to continue supporting the school
and also to continue paying their monthly contributions. She also added the present problem of the Senior
High School especially the TVL (Cookery, SMAW,and Dressmaking) for the lack of different materials
and equipment needed in the track. She asked for any donations or for someone to let the school borrow
equipment or materials they have for the students use. The principal also shared to the parents the new
offices and establishments of the school that includes the new Principals Office, Learning Resource
Center, and the Clinic which are made more functional for students assistance and well-being. She added
that the rehabilitation of the comfort rooms are still going on though there are still problems about the
water and drainage. She reminded the parents about the attendance of the students that their children
should regularly go to school.

Last on the agenda was the Election of the Board of Directors by the Araling Panlipunan
Department headed by Mrs. Maricon Burgos. Mrs. Burgos asked all presidents of each sections to come
up the stage for the election.

To end the assembly, Mrs. Ma. Wilhelmina M. Estrellanes gave the closing remarks. The meeting
ended at exactly 3:14 in the afternoon.
