FOREWORD
Easy, understandable and methodi-
cal chronicling are the most apt de-
scriptive words that could be attributed
to this book on Special Proceedings
authored by Atty. Alvin Claridades in
addition to his other major treatises in
law.

As one leafs through the pages, the

reader is treated to a detailed and me-
ticulously researched subject matter
that is oftentimes dealt with both in the academe and actual practice
of Law. The search is rendered more facile by the authors calibra-
tion of the topics and sub heads bolstered by applicable and highly
illustrative jurisprudence. This careful consideration is undoubtedly a
big boon to the conscientious student, lawyer and judge as he or she
wages through the labyrinth between basic principles and difficult
nuances of the myriad situations that could crop up in the determina-
tion of what is a fact, status or a right that pertains to a living litigant
or to a deceased person, including their heirs and legal representa-
tives.

In brief, the author succeeded in his attempt to present the subject

as one that is neither abstract nor circuitous.

Atty. Claridades deserves commendation and congratulations for

again coming up with a book that will undoubtedly enrich our legal
literature and serve as an authoritative guide not only to the students
of the law but also to the members of the bench and the bar.
