2 Construction method and procedure of main works
2.1 Piling Work 2.1.1 Preparation work
1 . Materials 1 The cement-mixed soil improvement method is
applied, the Portland cement shall be no less than Grade 425#, the cement volume
shall be determined in according to improvement requirement, normally 7%-15% of
soil weight, every cube-meter soil needs cement of 110~160kg, the reference
equation is: cement content % = c ement quantity/incurred soil

the addive for water decreasing may be used, whose volume shall be 0.2%-0.25% of
cement. In additional, sodium sulfate and gypsum may be added, sodium sulfate
volume shall be 1% of cement; gypsum volume shall be 2% of cement. Water-cement
ration shall be 0.41~0.50, the mortar thickness shall be 1~14cm. The additive can

mixed into each other by deep mixing machine in the deep soil layer, first of all
the hydrate compound is produed during hydrate reaction of cement, secondly
particle exchange ocurres between cementation of hydrate compound and soil
particle, finally the cement mixed soil with rigidity and stability is formed
through particlizing and cohering reactions. Consequently, the bearing capacity and
physical characteristic of original soft soil is improved.

strength test shall be taken by drilling. Section size shall be measured after pile
is excavated out, at mean while the construction joint and mixing uniformility can
be checked. The water leakage from inside of pile is prohibited.

mechanically and manually. Surplus soil shall be deposited outside site. The
backfill shall be piled up in the site for work. w

common excavation procedure for base pit (trench) is: Measure setting out
cutting and dig by layer discharge and drop water slope repair
leveling reserve enough soil layer, etc. For adjacent base pit excavation, it
should abide by the working procedure of deep first shallow second or simultaneous
work. Soil digging should be done from top to bottom by level and segment and
layer. It will check pit bottom width along with digging work and make timely
adjustment when it is not enough. It repairs side once each 1m to design elevation.
Then it makes unified slope repair and bottom clearance, checks pit bottom width
and elevation and requires that pit bottom concave and convex do not exceed 1.5cm.
For base pit (trench) digging beside existing building, it should conduct by
interval and segment. Each segment will not exceed 2m and adjacent segment
excavation should conduct after the excavated trench

manually and cannot start next working sequence after excavation, it should reserve
a 15 3 0cm layer not dug and dig to designed elevation when next working sequence

construction in rainy season, base pit (trench) should be dug by segment. It digs a
segment and then pours the bedding for the segment and builds dam or digs draining
ditch at both sides of base pit (trench) to prevent ground rain water from flowing
into base pit (trench). It should also frequently check stability of side slope and
support and alleviate side slop or make support as necessary to avoid collapse of
pit wall because of water dipping.

8) After
completion of base pit (trench) excavation it should check the trench. It usually
uses chisel to drive steel chisel into base soil of base pit (trench) with hammer
and judge groundwork soil property according to hammer driving times for certain
depth. Steel chisel is made of 22 2 5mm reinforced bar and chisel point is of
60 prick shape of 1.8 2 .0m long. Iron hammer is of weight 3.6 4 .5 kg. For
hammer driving, it lifts 50 7 0cm higher than chisel top and drives chisel
perpendicularly into soil and records hammer driving times for each 30 cm of soil
layer. Chisel hole layout and chisel detection depth is determined according to
groundwork soil property and complex status as well as base trench width and shape.
Chisel detection should keep record well and fill sand oil into chisel hole after
chisel detection. It marks with color pen or separates with signs on record table
for chisel holes with too much or too few hammer driving times. It marks location
of over hard or over soft point on plane layout for analysis and treatment by
design and survey sections at trench check and acceptance.

Construction methods 1) It should check whether soil, water content
is within control range before earth filling. Soil water content is proper when it
is held in hand to a block and becomes loose when drops to ground. When water
content is too much, it should take such measures as making it loose to dry by
sunshine and wind, changing earth for backfill, adding dry soil or other water
absorbing material to avoid gumming soil. If soil is too dry (or sand soil, gravel
soil, etc.), it should spray water to damp first, add compacting times or use big
power tamping machine. The compaction impact depth of various compacting machines
is related with soil property, water content and compacting times. The best water
content and maximum dry density of backfill earth should be determined according to

to prevent one side backfill from creating pressure unbalance of both sides to
cause groundwork deformation of slanting.

It forbids truck to dump soil directly to trench, avoids over thickness of soil
spreading and foundation damage.
4) For already filled soil, it should
compact surface solid to make certain slope or draining facility to prevent ground
rain water from flowing into pit (trench) to immerse groundwork.

( Construction safety
6) 1) Before backfill of base
pit (trench), it should check whether there is collapse phenomenon at pit (trench)
wall, operator should wear safety helmet before going down the pit (trench).

electro-mechanic staff. The usage of frog tamper should be done by two people with
one responsible for rubber line moving. The tamper operator must wear rubber glove
to avoid electric shock. It requires serious work for tamping and parallel spacing
between two machines cannot be less than 3m. When it tamps in the same line, the
distance between two machines cannot be less than 10m.

(7) Point of attention for construction 1 ) For filling with
density requirement, it should take sample to test dry density after tamping
according to stipulation. It can fill upper layer only when it is up to design and
specification requirement. For any part not up to design requirement, it should
take measure to handle it.

2) It should select backfill soil strictly and
control water content and tamping times. For filling of different soil, it should
spread by layer with rule according to soil type. It should place soil layer of big
penetration property under that of small penetration property and cannot mix them
for use to facilitate water content removal and stable base soil. It can also avoid
water bag forming in filling generation of sliding phenomenon.

bar engineering (1) Purchase of steel bars The purchase of steel
bars should be strictly complied with the material purchasing procedures of
ISO9001-2000 that is carried out by our company. We will assess all providers and
put forward our specific requirements on materials needed, especially the steel
bars that will be used under longitudinal stress. In addition to the national
standards concerned, this kind of steel bar also needs to satisfy the requirements
of Acceptance Specifications for the Construction Quality of Concrete Structural
Engineering (GB50204-2002) in terms of mechanical properties of the anti-seismic
structure. 1-2 most favorable providers are chosen in order to optimize the

1 2 (2) Bar quality inspection The rebar
comes into site with completed certificates. Each bundle (set) should has the
nametag with it. After rebar entering site, Contractor representative or Supervisor
Engineer should be present to witness sampling and testing according to the
requirements. The rebar can only be used after approval or removed right away from
the site if rejected. During machining process, in case that rebar has been broken,
or bad welding case or physical abnormalities, the chemical or other special tests

on the concentrative processing inside of the processing shed that is installed
with a whole series of processing machines for bar processing. The bar processing
should strictly comply with the requirements of the material table. Bar processing
includes straightening, derusting, cutting, shaping through flash welding. After
being processed on the spot, the finished products of these steel bars are conveyed
to the site again and directly piled within the area pointed for lifting so as to
be lifted to the due position by a crane when needed. All raw materials and
finished products of steel bars are identified, substantially bonded with lead
wire, and piled in order for lifting.

(4) Bar welding The methods for bar welding are
referred to Clause 2.2.4.3. 2 . 2 .4.3 (5) Bar bonding
1) Construction conditions a Based on the job schedule and requirements
of the working drawings, the job specifications for bar making and installing are

sole timbers in the position determined according to the construction layout
respectively according to their types, specifications, parts, and serial numbers.


e The dimension lines of the walls, poles, and beams etc and the
horizontal levels are identified or scored on the moldboards.

amounts, and lengths that are preset in the lower layer should be inspected
according to the lines scored. Treatment should be taken for those preset bars that
are unqualified. The treatment on the pre-left bars that are protuberant includes
derusting the bar surface and cleaning waste like cement mortar etc. It also needs
to burrow and get rid of the incompact parts on the surface of the basic concrete,

built and installed. Horizontal conveying vessels and vertical conveying machines

a Basic bar bonding - The cushion ply is marked with
lines according to the designed spacing, which are based on when the horizontal and
vertical bars are laid. During placement, the hook needs to be laid upward
carefully without tilting. But for double-layer steel network, the hooks of the
bars on the upper layer need to be laid downward.

- For the cross of two steel bars around the
base, each point should be bonded. The middle part should be firmly bonded like a
Japanese apricot flower every other one. The steel network with bi-directional main
bars needs to bond all crosses of steel bars. During the bonding, it should be paid
attention to the splay iron buckle or bonding the left buckle and the right buckle)
of adjacent bonding points, which is used to avoid the tilting and deformation of
the steel network pieces. }

When the independent pole base is double bended, the long bar of the steel network

the pole and locate on the joints of the hoopings and the main pole bars. But for
those poles of a large sectional area and with a crossing hooping, their joints can
be located on the joints of the hooping and any middle main bar. In the region
where has some anti-seismic requirements, the front end of the pole hooping should

diameter of the hooping hereunder). If the hoopings are lapped in a 90angle,
the lapping joint should be welded and the weld length of one-sided weld seam

less than 25mm, bonding joint is not desirable. When that is less than 25mm, it can
adopt the bonding joint. If there is no specification in the design for the lapping
length, it can refer to that in Table 14. The end of the lapping length should be
no less than 10d distant from the bending part of the bar. The joint should no be
set in the place of the beam where has a highest bending moment. In the tensile
region, the end of the bonding joint of Class I bar should be made into a hook (but
its not the case for Class II bar) and the lapping part should be fixed in the

plate can take L/10 of the span as the bending point. As far as the plates
middle span and the plates continuous multi-span are concerned, it can take L/6

the quality requirements of the specifications. Those with buckle missing or
loosing are no more than 10% of the total and they should not be concentrated. In
the framework, there should be no weld missing and sealing off. Those missed weld
or sealed off should be no more than 2% of the total welding points for the steel
network and they should not be concentrated.

horizontally in an area of 50100 square meters. The reasonable amount of the
moldboard should be determined according to the sectional size of the column and
the moldboard needs to be made in advance.

The location used for assembly should be flat and solid and ready for discharge.
According to the arrangement drawing, the column moldboard is pre-assembled into 4
pieces (one face is equivalent to one piece). Each pore on two adjacent plates is

through the hook bolt and then is chucked with the side of the plate. When it is
assembling, it needs to leave pore for concrete pouring and cleaning in advance. On
one side of the moldboard, there is a angle mold attached.

- When the pre-assembled column moldboard is removed,
the sling is prepared first. The jointer for the drawbar and the two pieces of
column moldboard are removed. And then the column moldboard is lifted and conveyed
after the moldboard is separated from the concrete surface.

should be built when work high above the ground and the operators should wear
safety belts. f Precautions for
construction - Before the moldboard is set up, it needs to mark
out the sidelines of the column according to the design drawing. What needs to be

tie up safety belt when working high above the ground.

c Mould dismantle high above the
ground shall be superintended by designated personnel with operation zone lined out

shall be conducted at different sections and layers accordingly, and pouring height
of each layer shall depend upon structure features and steel bar density and is
usually 1.25 times of the length of action part of vibrator with a max. of 50cm; B.
Swift plug-in and slow pullout shall be adopted for inserting tamper with insertion
points ranking in a unified way, piecemeal shift, processing sequence and
uniformity vibration compaction and no omission permitted. Shift space shall be not
more than 1.5 times of action radius of vibrating spear and is usually 30-40cm.
Vibration shall go 50mm deep into the underlayer to offset the adverse interfacing

of pillars, concrete shall be filled in to reach a height of 5-10cm, which shall
have the same recipe of the concrete with only half gravel content. Pillar concrete
shall be poured lift by lift with the thickness of each layer not higher than 50cm,

of the pillar is applicable when the pillar less than 3m; lined tank or slant chute
mounted on the door of mould side shall be applied for pouring section by section
with height of each section not exceeding 2m and door of mould side sealed and

to inspect concrete thickness and long wood trowel to float after finished. When

Common quality problems usually arise from loose operation control during frame
concrete placement. In case of such problems, analyze their accident causes, adopt
effective measures to remove accordingly and ensure concrete quality. Beehives
usually arise from too thick concrete lain at a time, incompact vibration or
vibration lack, unsealing of mould blank, grout drainage, too dense steel bars with
oversized concrete gravel, too small slump constant, upper concrete poured before
appropriate closedown of the pouring stop of foundation, pillar and underlayer
steps of wall root that may cause grout extruded from the root of top lift; naked
steel bars arise chiefly from the displacement of steel bar cushion block,
oversized space, leakage, steel bar plastering upon

beams and pillars are mainly because of distortion and insufficient rigidity of
column adaptor mould; oversized deviation of smoothness of upper surface of floor
slab and stairway happens chiefly because surface of the concrete placement is not
floated with a trowel or operation crews walk upon the insulating layer in winter.
Operate attentively and adopt control and preventive measures in accordance with
the causes. }

any damage for construction in rainy season. Poured concrete shall be enveloped in

2.4 Steel structure
2.4.1 Manufacture and erection of steel structure (1) Manufacture of

steel beam, H type cross section is adopted for the column and beam with the

groove shall be processed. The groove size shall be checked before group-splice,
the rust and burrs within 30mm range around the groove and welds shall be trimmed
and ground by the grinding machine. Run-on plate is lapped on both ends of the
splice joint, the material quality,thickness and groove are same as the steel
plate, length shall be not less than 100mm, and length of lead-out welds, not less
than 80mm.Tack welding shall be done by manual arc welding for positioning, length
of spot welding is around 20mm; space between spot welding: 500mm for welds with

Maintain the tightening force of 60%~80% of standard prestress at first step, and
then tighten to the full prestress at second step by controlling allowance of 10 %.

high early strength Portland cement with good stability. It forbids using expired
or vertical kiln produced soil cement. Sand should use mixed sand of fine and mid
coarse sand and not use fine powder sand.

2) It should pay attention to prevent missed pressing in leveling work with
trowel. When mortar is too thick, it should spray quite dry mortar of same grade to
trowel, dry cement is not allowed to spray to prevent peeling.


3) It should pay attention to control density strictly in construction and
mortar mixing cannot be too watery. It should pay attention for times of trowel
work in work and curing work must be at proper time. It cannot step on it too early
to prevent rising phenomenon.

For trowel leveling, base layer must be clean. It should chisel burs for smooth
face and damp it adequately. For plain cement brushing it should brush after mortar
mixing. It cannot rinse with water after cement spray and spread mortar as it
brushes cement. It presses with trowel for required times and avoid missing to
prevent crack and hollow phenomenon in leveling layer.




5) When it
screeds for leveling layer it should pay attention to locate flashing accurately or
find flashing with wooden bar during mortar spreading. Mortar spreading thickness
trowels smooth according to screeding to prevent from reverse flashing.

Insulation layer spreading of basic layer roofing work is completed and handover
and acceptance procedure is transacted after checking. Exposed substance on roof
should be cleared and remaining mark should be leveled by trowel. Roofing should be
cleaned and then begin next working sequence.

3) Insulation material should control water content strictly to
prevent it form too high (control within 6%). It should try to spray less water in
construction. High water content will reduce insulation performance on one hand and
affects draining on the other hand. After spreading of roll material water proof
layer, it is easy to generate bubble and affect water proof layer quality and usage

4) Insulation layer construction should take measure to control
spreading thickness. It will operate carefully to prevent stacking moving, uneven

Fix the gutter panels on the brackets with hexangular bolts full of sealed
materials. Pave the gutter panels made of thin galvanized steel from the lower to
the higher, with vertical lapped length no less than 150 mm. Pave sealed belt
(30mm3mm) on the lapped panels with4mm aluminum rivets fixing. Plaster
waterproof pitch in the junctions. Fix flashing scaleboard on the end before
flashing. Pave sealed belt (30mm3mm) on the scaleboard, erect the bottom
scaleboard on it, and then Pave another sealed belt (30mm3mm) with aluminum

wave tiles. Otherwise, fix with galvanized waterproof bolts. Set 3 bolts at least
on each lap of wave tiles and one bolt on the wave center. Make flashing with thin
galvanized metal panels or roll the tile to zigzag into the wall grooves with a
minimum of 180mm as flashing when wall bonders are higher than the roof. Cut tiles
uniformly near wall bonders and plaster eaves with mortar. Nail wave tiles directly
on eaves fascia if there are any and then cut tidily. The length of flashing panels
(thin galvanized steel) on ridges, inclined gutters, roof gutters, roof and
junctions is not longer than 2 m, and the lap width with metal deck shall not be
narrower than 200 mm. Erect flashing panels levelly and straightly. The roof gutter
panels under metal deck shall not shorter 100mm.

Connect panels with galvanized or stainless steel bolts. Connect roof metal deck
and accessory panels with aluminum or stainless steel rivets fixing.

base of aluminous, brass, or steel. Not contact them with plated contour plate to
corrode steel sheet.

4) When
laying contour plate, avoid bumping or hit by heavy objects.

rule to check whether the walls are vertical or not. If not, rework the wall in
order to prevent difficulties in floorboards. Calculate the floor boards quantity.
If the quantity is not the same with the design, make even all the boards
referring the center point. The small boards should be installed against walls.
Mark all the lines and make a grid net. Mark the boards installing location on the
base and elevation on the wall around. And also the equipment installation
location. Pay much attention the work to ensure the right marking(insert the piping
and wiring work under the boards. Avoid the location where the supports will be
installed)

install the supports and stringer at the cross points of the lines marked on the
base. Adjust the support to the elevation of the room with thread and rule. After

panels and openings, the installation direction and ordered should be fully

2 Quality Problems
 (1) The boards and supporting assembly material and technical

install cables after the grid is marked and install the supporting system after the
cables installation is accepted and approved. By doing so, it can not only avoid
rework but also prevent supports from becoming loose by hitting.








(3) When install base, it should be on the
center of the grid. Check the straightness of beams by threads to make sure the
board seam straightness within 3mm. Do the checking at any time when installing

2.7.1. Construction preparation Studying the drawings, codes,
specifications and regulations, making clear the scope of construction work,
organizing the drawing joint-review and design clarification, reading the equipment
instructions to understand its performance. Rationally arrange the personnel,
prepare the equipment, tools and materials. When the equipment and materials are
taken out from the warehouse, the types, specifications, quantities, voltage
rating, anti-explosive rating and certificates for anti-explosion should be
checked. The anti-explosion mark is EX, records for equipment and materials taking
out from the warehouse should be made for future check. Prefabrication work such
as cable conduit bends, Earthing terminals and supports should be finished in order
to ensure the construction progress. 2.7.2. Installation of the distribution
panel Transportation of the panels When the panels are taken out from
the warehouse, the construction personnel should read the technical documents of
the manufacturer carefully in order to understand the their internal structure,
they are also responsible for coordinate with the related personnel to perform the
joint check. The checking includes the quantity counting according to the packing
list, inside and outside damage, the sizes of the panels in compliance with the
requirements of the entrance of the substation or not. If problems are found, they
should be reported in time and records should be made. Professional hoisting
personnel should be responsible for the transportation and hoisting of the panels.
Heavy shaking and tilting are not allowed during the transportation. The panels
should be carried to the base by special transportation vehicles. During the
transportation, the panels should be supported by worker on each side in order to

and in good condition. The joint surface of the main bus bar and branch bus bar
should be in compliance with the requirements; the identification of phase sequence
for the branch bus bar should be identical with the main bus bar. The bolts of
the bus bar should be checked by torque wrench, the tightening torque should be in
compliance with the requirements: The movable equipment should be checked for
its free action, the manual tripping of vacuum breaker (contactor) should conform
to the technical requirements. The electrical clearance and the creeping
distance of the conducting sections should be in compliance with the requirements
of the codes. The electrical elements should be tightly fixed and well
grounded. 2.7.3. Wiring in the panel After the cables are fixed under
the panel, they are penetrated into the panel from the bottom and the cable heads
are made and fixed. Take care not to damage the cores when peeling the sheath.
The cable cores shall be tied up and led up along the cable stand. The bending
degree shall be the same when the cables are branched and arranged parallelly.
The cores shall be marked with the circuit numbers by using special numbering
machines, and the numbers shall be clear, permanent and with complete contents.
Wiring shall be made strictly according to the drawings. Each terminal is wired
to one wire and at most to two wires The wiring shall be tidy, goodly and fixed
tightly, and there shall be no inter-connections. 2.7.4. Erecting of the cable

Before the Erecting of cable conduits or channel, related personnel shall
review the drawing with the engineers of civil work, installation and the other
specialties, to know about the arrangement of the buildings and whether there is
position interference between the cable conduits or channel and the equipment,
piping and the structure, in order to avoid contradiction and re-work after the
completion of the construction. The cables in the plant area are mainly laid
along the cable trays to the electric equipment, so the cable conduits or channel
shall be less. Screwed connection shall be used for steel conduit joints, the
length of the conduit end shall not be less than 1/2 of the conduit connections.
The exposed length after connected shall be 2-3 threads and the surface of the
screw shall be smooth and perfect. The nozzles of steel conduits in the cable
trench shall be closed with water-proof packing. In the cable trench must be full
of fine sand. The steel conduits out of the cable trays shall be sealed with
sealing compound. The steel conduits shall be grounded at one side with the
cable well wall or the cable tray side. Earth wire shall be used in the cable
trays. The earth points shall be obtained from the earth wire on the cable trays.
The steel conduits, after laid, shall be welded with earth terminals timely.
--Jumpers shall be used in the connecting points of the embedded piping and they
must be coated asphaltum to prevent corrosion. Composite resin shall be used in the
connecting points of the open piping so as to ensure reliable grounding of the
electric tubing. The nozzles shall be sealed timely after steel conduits are
installed to prevent foreign matters from entering. Quality requirements for
piping There shall be no burr or sharp points and the nozzles shall be with
wire-protected caps. Non- explosion Cproof hoses, when connected, can be
fabricated to be flare type. The cable conduits, after bent, shall have cracks
or obvious concave and their bending shall not be more than 10% of the outside
diameter of the conduits. The bent radius of the conduits shall not be less than
the min. allowably bent radius of the penetrated cables.

The ratio between the inner diameter of the conduits and the outside diameter
of the cables shall not be less than 1.5. The conduits shall be installed
tightly and the space between supports shall not be more than 3m. The buried
depth of cables shall not be less than 0.7 m. If the cables are laid under the
pavement, the depth shall not be less than 0.5m. The directly buried conduits
shall have 0.1% drainage slope. The connection of the conduits shall be tight
and no water or mud and sand seep in. 2.7.5. Construction of electric cable
trays Before construction, make clear the laying direction of the cable
trays and verify the elevation of the conduit racks and the change of the model.
Review the drawings with the process engineers and verify whether there are piping,
members and equipment in the laying direction of the cable trays, and suitable
distance must be decided. Review the drawings with the instrument engineers and
verify whether there is contradiction in the design of the cable trays and the
space meets the requirements. Verify whether the bends are suitable and whether the
quantity is enough. Try not to weld the cable trays when installing them. If
welding is indeed needed, the hot-immersed cable trays shall be coated with silver
powder painting and the painted cable trays shall be coated with the same painting.
When the high voltage cables and the low-voltage cables are on the same cable
tray, partitions shall be installed in the cable trays in the plant area and in
the corresponding branch cable trays. The grounding shall comply with the design
requirements and the space between grounding points shall not be more than 50m. In
the place where the overlap area of grounding is not sufficient, soft jumpers shall
be used. The converted area of the jumpers shall not be less than the section of
the main earth wires in the plant area. The burr on the cable trays shall be
removed after the cable trays are installed, to avoid damage of the cables.

numbers, the cable routes and the section before cable laying, to avoid wrong
laying of cables which may cause accidents. Measure the insulation resistance of
the cables. The high-voltage cables shall have DC voltage resistant test and cables
can be laid after the cables are confirmed to be qualified. Record shall be noted
down when testing.

The surplus of the high and low voltage cables shall be according to the
specification requirements. For the uncertain contents in the specification, go to

2.7.9. Earth parts The earth work shall be coordinated closely with civil
work. The construction persons shall know well the drawing and construct according
to the drawings. The laid earth wires shall be marked with fluorescence pencils to
ensure that embedding is not forgettable. The earth wire in this section adopts
70 mm2 copper cable and the branch wire adopts 70 mm2copper cable. The earth wire,
when connected, shall comply with the relative regulations of GB50169-92
CONSTRUCTION AND ACCEPTANCE CODES FOR EARTH DEVICE OF INSTALLATION PROJECT OF
ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT. The connected points of the earth wire shall be coated with
composite resin. The material of the static electricity earth terminals for
equipment and process piping shall be the same as that of the welded body. It is
not allowed for different material to be welded with each other. The electricians
shall be coordinated closely with the process persons to assure that the static
electricity grounding and the lightening proof grounding are not forgettable. The
underground parts of the earth work are embedded work that shall be inspected by
all the parties. There shall be no brick and gravel in the backfill soil. Tamping
shall be done timely after backfill is finished. Construct strictly as per the
drawings. If there is any problem, only after design change is conducted can
construction be executed. 2.7.10. Check for motor wiring Verify whether
the voltage, current and the power ratings on the motor nameplate comply with the
design requirements. Confirm whether the motor wiring way is star or tri-angle.
It is not permitted to conduct wiring when one knows nothing about the motor wiring
way. The polarity shall be checked before conducting motor wiring. Check the
rotation direction of the motor-driven equipment. The phase color of the cables in
the distribution room shall be the same as that of the signs of the terminals.
Before wiring, insulation resistance and the absorption ratio shall be measured.
For the high voltage motors or the motors of over 100KW, the Dc resistance shall be

voltage motors shall not be lower than 0.5 MEGO. . The insulation resistance of
the high voltage motors shall not be lower than 1 MEGO/1KV. The fabrication of
the cable head shall be with the instruction manual. The terminals shall not be
allowed to be shortened by saws or to reduce the cores when conducting motor
wiring. The down lead of motors and the terminals of power wires shall be coated
with composite resin and the terminals shall be connected tightly. The safety
distance should be ensured. The wired motors shall be sealed well. The glands of
the explosion proof motors shall be tightened and the wirings and the bolts are
complete. 2.7.11. Main electric test To study seriously the electric
principle diagram and wiring diagram, to check whether the arrangement of the
wiring is reasonable and the wiring tab is complete .To check whether the
terminals, the elements and the wiring screws are fixed and they shall be
tightened, each. To check whether the wiring in the panel is correct according
to the principle diagram and wiring diagram. The second circuit of the current
inductors shall not be open and the second circuit of the voltage inductors shall
not be short circuit. To check whether the fuse of the control circuit is
complete and in good condition, and compliance with the requirements. To check
each limit switch, the changeover switch shall be operated freely and reliable and
the contact point output shall be corresponding to the switch state. To measure
the second circuit and the insulation resistance shall meet the requirements.
Current circuit test: to put the primary switch in the testing position and let
the switch on. To add current from the primary bus and check whether the indication
of the current is correct and the automation system of the computer can alarm and
trip in accordance with the calibrated value.

2.8 Method Statement for the Fire Fighting System 2.8.1 Fire
Alarm System 1) Electrical wiring a. The wiring of the automatic
fire alarm system shall conform to the current national standard DConstruction and
Acceptance Inspection of the Electrical Devices. b. The wiring of the automatic
fire alarm system shall conform to the current national standard DDesign
Specification of the Automatic Fire Alarm System, and shall inspect the wire type
and voltage. c. The wiring inside the tubes or wire grooves shall be carried
through after the building plastering and surface work completion. The wiring shall
be done after the hydrocele and dust removal from the tubes and grooves. Wires in
the tube and groove shall not have joints and kinks. The wire connections shall be
jointed inside a junction box or by a terminal. The tube junction in dusty or humid
places shall be sealed. Junction boxes shall be adopted when the tube length meets
the following conditions: Tube length more than 45m while have no bend. Tube length
more than 30m while have 1 bend Tube length more than 20m while have 2 bends Tube
length more than 12m while have 3 bends d. When tube entering into the box, both
the box outside and inside shall have protective sheaths, same sheaths are required
for box inlet and outlet when wires in suspended ceiling. e. The various tubes and
grooves inside the suspended ceiling shall have be hanged or supported by separate
clamp apparatus. f. Hangers or supports shall be used for each 1.0~1.5m of the
straight wire groove. Following places shall also use the hanger or support: g. The
diameter of the hanger for wire groove shall not less than 6mm. Wires cross the
buildings transfiguration shall adopt the compensation method, and the both sides
of the transfiguration shall be fixed and shall have a margin. h. After the wire
laying of the automatic fire alarm system, each loop shall be tested by the 500V
mega ohm meter, and the measured insulation resistance shall not less than 20 mega
ohm. 2) Assembly of the fire detector

a. Point-type fire detector shall be installed under the below requirements: a)
The horizontal space between the detector and wall or beam edge shall not be less
than 0.5m. b) No obstacles shall exist inside the area of 0.5m to the detector. c)
The horizontal space between the detector and the air conditioners air outlet,
shall not be less than 1.5m. and the space to the roof air outlet shall not be less
than 0.5m. d) The detector shall be installed in the center of the roof when the
inside corridor width is less than 3m. The adjacent thermal detectors shall have a
space not more than 10m, and the adjacent smoke detectors shall have a space no
more than 15m. The distance from the detector to the wall shall be no more than
half of the installation space. e) The detectors shall be installed horizontally,
if must be decline, the gradient shall be less than 450. b. Line-type fire detector
and combustible gas detector shall be installed in accordance with the current
national criterions. c. Detectors shall be fixed to the pedestals firmly, its wire
connection shall be pressure wading or welding joint, and no corrosive welding flux
shall be used in welding. d. The D+wire of the detector shall be red, and the
D-wire shall be blue, other wires colors shall be determined by the different
purpose, but same purpose wires shall adopt same color in the same project. e.
Wires to the detector pedestals shall reserve a margin no less than 15cm, and the
inlets shall be clearly marked. f. The wire holes of the detector pedestals shall
be blocked and the pedestals shall take thermal protection after installation. g.
The alarm lamps of the detectors shall face to the main entrance to convenient the
observers. h. The detectors shall be kept properly before installation, and shall
install right before commissioning. 3) Manual alarm button installation
Manual alarm button shall be placed on the wall 1.5m above the ground. Manual alarm
button shall be placed firmly and shall not be incline. The wires to the manual
alarm button shall reserve a margin no less than 10cm, and shall be clearly marked
on the top. 4) Installation of the fire fighting control panel a. The fire

control panel shall be functionally inspected before installation. b. The wire to
the control panel shall be no longer than 2m if coated by a metal flexible tube.
The junction box of the metal flexible tube and fire control equipment shall be
fixed by a lock, and shall earth appropriately. c. The terminal of the fire control
panel shall be clearly marked.

d. The different terminals inside the fire control cabinet shall be separately
according to the voltage class and current class, and shall be clearly indicated.
5) System earthinga. The working earthing shall adopt the copper core
insulated wire or cable, and shall not use galvanized flatiron or metal flexible
tube. b. The working earthing wire from the fire control room to the grounding
shall go through a steel pipe or other firm protective tube if cross a wall. c. The
working earthing wire shall be separately with the protective earthing wire, the
protective earthing tube shall not use the metal flexible tube. d. Hidden project
inspection shall be fulfilled right after the earthing completion, and the
acceptance inspection shall include the following items: a) Measure and record the
grounding resistance b) Check the needed technical data c) Inspect the
construction quanlity 6) System testing During the commissioning,
inspections such as the fire alarm self checking, silencing, reposition,
malfunction alert, fire alarm precession, alarm recording and power automatic
switch against the alarm controller, as well as the automatic recharge, under/above
voltage alarm to the standby power are to be implemented. Supply power with the
working/standby power sources separately to inspect the fire automatic alarm system
in according to the design requirements, to ensure the proper function of the
control and interlock. Inspect the capability of the main power and standby power.
Inspect the automatic switch between the main/standby power. Continuously charge
and discharge the standby power for 3 times, the function shall be normal. After
the successfully system commissioning, smoke/thermal test on each detector are
necessary. Implement the system self checking under commissioning procedure, and
compile the commissioning report. 2.8.2. Fire Fighting in Water Systems

shall use the check valve and pressure meter, and is better to install a water
discharge valve for check and water test. The discharge head pipe of the fire pump
group shall install the pressure meter with pressure release valve, and the
pressure meter shall join a buffer device with a faucet, the measuring range of the
pressure meter shall be 1~1.5 times larger than the working pressure. d. Suction
pipe and its auxiliaries shall be installed under the below conditions: e. The
installation of the control valve on the suction pipe shall be f ulfilled after the
pump fixed with the foundation, and the valve diameter shall be no less than that
of the suction inlet of the fire pump. Butterfly valve shall not be used here. f.
In case of the fire pump and fire pool are on the separate foundation and are rigid
connected, flexible tube shall be used to the suction pipe. 2) Connection and

11.3 Internal File Administration 11.3.1 Making transfer
