WAMAIR ATEX (code FPX) is
a range of polygonal filters with
flanged bodies, which allows
connection to a silo or hopper by
means of a series of screws.
They are made entirely of 304
stainless steel with the exception
of the carbon steel seal frame.

IAs an option, the dust collector
casing can manufactured in 316
stainless steel.
The system for cleaning the filter
elements is completely built into
the access door so as to reduce
to the minimum the overall dimen-
sions and the time necessary for
maintenance.
Thanks to the various choices
available in terms of height,
diameter and filtering surface,
WAMAIR ATEX filters can be
used for any application in all
indu-strial sectors.
The technical features and com-
pressed air cleaning system make
it ideal for continuous use.
Because of the small size it
sometimes becomes neces sary
to insert filtering elements in the
silo to be de-dusted.
For this purpose, INSERTA
BLE filters are provided with a
filter body (that which contains
the filter elements), and are di-
rectly installed on the silo to be
de-dusted, thus saving on height
requirements.

WAMAIRATEX (Best.Nr. FPX)
ist eine Baureihe rechteckiger
Filter mit geflanschtem Gehuse,
die mittels Schrauben am Silo
oder Trichter befestigt werden.
Sie bestehen komplett aus Edel-
stahl 1.4301, mit Ausnahme der
Elementtrageplatte aus Stahl.
Auf Wunsch ist diese Platte auch
aus Edelstahl 1.4301 oder 1.4401
lieferbar.
Auf Wunsch sind auch Filter-
gehuse aus Edelstahl 1.4401
lieferbar.
Das Abreinigungssystem der Fil-
terelemente ist vollstndig in die
Tr integriert, um Einbaumae
und Platzbedarf fr die Wartung
weit-mglichst zu reduzieren.
Dank der zahlreichen Varianten
in bezug auf die Einbauhhe, den
Gehusedurchmesser und die
Filterflche sind WAMAIR ATEX
Filter fr jede Anwendung in allen
Industriesparten geeignet.

Wenn beschrnkte Platzverhlt-
nisse vorliegen, ist es manchmal
erforderlich, die Filterelemente in
den Silo einzustecken, den man
entstauben will.
Zu diesem Zweck sind die EIN-
SCHUB- bzw. EINHANGFILTER
mit einem Gehuserahmen ver-
sehen (Gehuse, welches die
Filterelemente enthlt), das direkt
in den Silor eingebaut wird, den
man entstauben mchte, um beim
Platzbedarf in der Hhe Einspa-
rungen zu erzielen.

TRABLES sont dpourvus du
corps de filtre (c..d. lenveloppe
contenant les lments filtrant),
et ils sont monts directement sur
le silo dpoussirer, en cono-
misant sur les encombrements
en hauteur.

filtranti completamente integrato
nel portello in modo da ridurre al
massimo gli ingombri e il tempo
necessario per la manutenzione.
Grazie alle numerose varianti di
scelta in termini di altezza, dimen-
sioni e superficie filtrante, i filtri
WAMAIRATEX sono utilizzabili
per qualsiasi applicazione in tutti
i settori industriali.
Le caratteristiche tecniche ed il
sistema di pulizia ad aria com-
pressa ne fanno una macchina
adatta alluso in continuo.
Per esigenze di ingombro limitato
a volte esiste la necessit di inse-
rire gli elementi filtranti nel silo che
si vuole depolverare.
A tale scopo i filtri INSERIBILI
sono sprovvisti del corpo filtro
(quello cio che contiene gli
elementi filtranti), e vengono di-
rettamente installati sul silo che si
vuole depolverare, risparmiando
sugli ingombri in altezza.

The machine is designed and con-
structed for use in an area classified
as 22 in conformity to the indications
of ATEX Directive 94/9/EC.
The user must make sure the plant
in which the filter is to be installed is
set in safety status from the point of
view of risk of explosion before being
started up and that the document
on protection against explosion has
been prepared as envisaged by the
ATEX Directive 94/92/EC.
The dusts handled must have
explosive-ness indices equal to
St1 or St2 and this value must be
communicated to the Manufacturer
at the time of placing the order, to
allow correct sizing of the machine
and safety devices.
WAMAIRATEX is designed and
constructed in such a manner as to
avoid abnormal overheating during
operation. To be able to work in safe
conditions, check to make sure the
powders handled have a minimum
ignition temperature higher than the
temperature value indicated on the
rating plate.
- The filter must be installed with
sufficient clearance around it to
allow normal assembly/disas-
sembly, cleaning and maintenance
operations.
- If the machine is used with very hot
materials, where the temperature
is higher than 60, the installer
must provide insulation or install
a mechanical barrier that pre-
vents personnel from coming into
contact with the hot parts. The
necessary notices and symbols
must be affixed.
Das Gert ist fr den Einsatz in
explosionsgefhrdeter Umgebung
mit Klassifizierung als Zone 22
entwickelt und konstruiert worden,
so wie in der ATEX-Richtlinie 94/9/
EG klassifiziert.
Der Anwender muss sicherstellen,
dass die Anlage, in die das Filter
eingebaut wird, unter dem Gesichts-
punkt der Explosionsgefahr in einen
angemessen sicheren Zustand
gebracht wurde, bevor die Anlage

Der behandelte Staub muss eine
Explosionsklasse St1 oder St2
aufweisen. Die genauen Daten sind
dem Hersteller mit der Bestellung
bekannt zu geben, damit das Filter
und die Sicherheitsvorrichtungen
korrekt ausgelegt werden knnen.
WAMAIR ATEX wurde so entwor-
fen, konstruiert und getestet, dass
anomale berhitzungen whrend
des Betriebs vermieden werden. Um
unter sicheren Bedingungen arbei-
ten zu knnen, ist sicherzustellen,
dass die behandelten Stube eine
minimale Zndtemperatur haben,
die unter dem Temperaturwert
liegt, der auf dem Typenschild an-
gegeben ist.
- Um das Filter herum muss so viel
Platz sein, dass die routinem-
igen Ein- und Ausbauarbeiten,
die Reinigung und die Wartung
mglich sind.
- Bei Einsatz des Gertes mit sehr
heien Medien, bei denen die
Oberflchentemperatur 60C
berschreiten kann, muss der
Einbauer den Filter isolieren oder
mechanische Barrieren instal-
lieren, die es verhindern, dass
das Betriebspersonal die heien
Flchen anfassen kann. Er muss
auerdem dafr sorgen, dass die
erforderlichen Schilder bzw. Hin-
weis- und Warnungspiktogramme
angebracht werden.

WAMAIR ATEX a t conu et

voquer de surchauffes anormales
durant son fonctionnement. Pour
un travail en parfaites conditions de
scurit, il est ncessaire de vrifier
si la temprature minimale dignition
des poudres traites est suprieure
la temprature indique sur la
plaque signaltique.
- le filtre devra tre install en
veillant ce quil existe assez des-
pace autour de lui pour permettre
laccomplissement des oprations
normales de montage/dmontage,
nettoyage et entretien.
- Si la machine travaille avec des
matriaux trs chauds, de sorte
que la temprature superficielle
dpasse 60, linstallateur devra
calorifuger le filtre ou installer
des barrires mcaniques inter-
disant au personnel datteindre
les parties chaudes. En outre, il
devra apposer les panneaux ou
pictogrammes ncessaires la
signalisation du risque.

Le polveri trattate dovranno avere

dimensionamento della macchina e
dei dispositivi di sicurezza.
WAMAIR ATEX stato proget-
tato e costruito in modo tale da
non provocare surriscaldamenti
anomali durante il funzionamento.
Per poter operare in condizioni di
sicurezza occorre verificare che le
polveri trattate abbiano una minima
temperatura di ignizione superiore
al valore di temperatura indicato
sulla targhetta.
- il filtro dovr essere installato con
uno spazio circostante sufficiente
per effettuare le normali operazioni
di montaggio/smontaggio, pulitura
e manutenzione.
- In caso di utilizzo della macchina
con materiali molto caldi, tali che
la temperatura superficiale superi i
60, linstallatore dovr provvedere
a coibentare il filtro o ad installare
barriere meccaniche che impedi-
scono al personale di raggiungere
le parti calde. Ed inoltre dovr ap-
porre la necessaria cartellonistica
o pittogrammi.

The polygonal filter is designed
and tested to work in areas
with potentially explosive atmo-
spheres classified as zone 22,
defined by existing standard 94/9/
CE: the occasional presence of
explosive atmosphere in the form
of combustible dust clouds in ex-
traordinary conditions (exam-ple,
breakdown) or in ordinary condi-
tions for a brief period (example,
vicinity of machines and equip-
ment open for main-tenance,
deposits of packing materials or
bags subject to breakage).
The filter is designed and tested to
work with dust having explo-sive-
ness class not greater than St2.
The certified structural resi stance
of the polygonal filter is Pred =
0.25 relative bar (2,500 mm H2O,
250 millibar, 25 KPascal).
The antiburst panel supplied as
optional by the Manufacturer has
a certified opening pressure Pstat
= 0.1 relative bar (1,000 mm H2O,
100 millibar, 10 KPascal); so the
last value must never be reached,
as this would result in breakage
of the panel leading to stopping
of the plant and leakage of dust
into the environment.

Das polygonale Filter hat einen
zertifizierten strukturellen Wi-
derstand von P red = 0,25 bar
relativ (2500 mm H2O, 250 mbar,
25 kPascal).
Die wahlweise vom Hersteller
gelieferte Berstmembran hat ei-
nen zertifizierten ffnungs- druck
von Pstat = 0.1 bar relativ (1000
mm H2O, 100 mbar, 10 kPascal),
wobei der letzte Wert nie ber-
schritten werden darf, weil die

Die Konzeption der WAMAIR
ATEX Filter entspricht insbe-
sondere den Prinzipien der in-
tegrierten Explosionssicherheit.
Folgende Manahmen wurden
getroffen, um:
1. vorrangig, wenn es mglich ist,
explosionsfhige Atmosph-
ren zu vermeiden, die von den
Gerten und Schutzsystemen
selbst erzeugt oder freigesetzt
werden knnen;
2. die Entzndung explosiver
Atmosphren unter Berck-
sichtigung von elektrischen
und nicht elektrischen Znd-
quellenarten im Einzelfall zu
verhindern;
3. Prf- und Wartungsbedingun-
gen zu optimieren, damit die
Filter perfekt leistungsfhig
erhalten werden;
4. sie so zu konzipieren, dass
sie die vorhersehbaren Umge-
bungsbedingungen ertragen.
Anm.: Das Filter WAMAIR
ATEX darf nur in eine Anlage
eingebaut werden, die in an-
gemessener Weise mit Schutz-
und Sicherheitsvorrichtungen
sowie Abschottungen gem
der Norm ATEX 94/9/EG aus-

I filtri WAMAIR ATEX sono

liberino essi stessi miscele
esplosive;
2. Impedire linnesco di una

3. Ottimizzare le condizioni di
controllo e manutenzione, al

APPLICATION OF ATEX DIRECTIVE 94/9/CE

WAMAIR ATEX filters are suitable components for use in complex systems in the presence of potentially explosive at-
mospheres in accordance with standards 94/9/CE.
If the filter is ordered complete with an anti-explosion burst panel (optional) and specific WAM hopper, the body + panel
+ hopper + bucket unit comprises a complete free-standing system, entirely conforming to the ATEX standards.
If the filter is purchased for use independent from the WAM hopper the safety system MAY NOT BE ADEQUATE. In this
case, in the plant design phase, it is the installers responsibility to size the safety system suitably (in accordance with
standard ATEX - 94/9/CE).

ANWENDUNG DER ATEX-RICHTLINIE 94/9/EG

Die WAMAIR ATEX Filter sind Komponenten, die zum Einsatz in komplexen Systemen in explosionsgefhrdeten Bereichen
geeignet sind, so wie es die Richtlinie 94/9/EG vorsieht.
Wenn das Filter mit Berstmembran (optional) und dem dedizierten WAM Trichter bestellt wird, stellt die Kombinations
aus Gehuse + Platte + Trichter + Eimer ein komplette, eigenstndiges System dar, das den ATEX-Normen vollkommen
gerecht wird.
Falls das Filter fr einen Einsatz vorgesehen ist, der unabhngig vom WAM Trichter ist, ist das Schutzsystem mglicherwei-
se NICHT ANGEMESSEN. In diesem Fall muss der Anlagenplaner in der Entwicklungsphase der Anlage die Abmessungen
des etwaigen Schutzsystem auf angemessene Weise auslegen (gem der Norm ATEX - 94/4/EG und die Pred des Filters).

ETRE ADEQUAT. Dans ce cas, lors de la phase dtude de projet de linstallation, linstallateur aura lobligation de dimen-
sionner de manire approprie le systme ventuel de protection (conformment la norme ATEX - 94/9/CE).

APPLICAZIONE DELLA DIRETTIVA ATEX 94/9/CE

I filtri WAMAIR ATEX sono componenti idonei allutilizzo in sistemi complessi in presenza di atmosfere potenzialmente
esplosive come a norma 94/9/CE.
Nel caso in cui il filtro venga ordinato completo della membrana antiscoppio (opzionale) e della tramoggia dedicata WAM,
il sistema corpo + pannello + tramoggia + bidone costituisce un sistema completo a se stante, interamente adeguato alle
normative ATEX.
Nel caso in cui il filtro venga acquistato per un utilizzo indipendente dalla tramoggia WAM il sistema di protezione potrebbe
NON ESSERE ADEGUATO. In tal caso, in fase di progettazione dellimpianto, a carico dellinstallatore dimensionare in
modo opportuno (secondo la norma ATEX - 94/9/CE e la Pred del filtro) leventuale sistema di protezione.

INSERTABLE FILTERS
Because of the small size it
sometimes becomes neces sary
to insert filtering elements in the
silo/hopper to be de-dusted.
For this purpose, INSERTA BLE
filters are provided with a filter
body (that which contains the
filter elements), and are directly
installed on the silo/hopper to be
de-dusted, thus saving on height
requirements.

Wenn beschrnkte Platzverhlt-
nisse vorliegen, ist es manchmal
erforderlich, die Filterelemente in
den Silo/Trichter einzustecken,
den man reinigen will.
Zu diesem Zweck sind die EIN-
SATZFILTER mit einem Filterge-
huse versehen (das Gehuse,
das die Filterelemente enthlt),
das direkt in dem Silo/Trichter
installiert wird, den man reinigen
will, um beim Platzbedarf in der
Hhe Einsparungen zu erzielen.

Pour des exigences dencombre-
ment il est parfois ncessaire din-
srer des lments filtrants dans
le silo ou la trmie dpoussirer.
A cet effet les filtres ENCAS-
TRABLES sont dpourvus du
corps de filtre (c..d. lenveloppe
contenant les lments filtrant),
et ils sont monts directement sur
le silo/trmie dpoussirer, en
conomisant sur les encombre-
ments en hauteur.

Per esigenze di ingombro limi-
tato a volte esiste la necessit
di inserire gli elementi filtranti
nel silo/tramoggia che si vuole
depolverare.
A tale scopo i filtri INSERIBILI
sono sprovvisti del corpo filtro
(quello cio che contiene gli
elementi filtranti), e vengono
direttamente installati sul silo/
tramoggia che si vuole depolve-
rare, risparmiando sugli ingombri
in altezza.

- Solenoid valves (1) fitted directly
inside compressed air reservoir
(2) to reduce load loss to the
minimum;
- AISI 304 blowing pipes (3);
- Externally anodised aluminium
air reservoir with two heads (4)

opaque black cataphoresis

possible to install plain (pocket)
or pleated (Polypleat) filter
elements. The latter solution
already guarantees optimum use
of the space available, but it is
incompatible with certain types

The Venturi system, applied in
WAMAIR ATEX filters, has been
specially designed by WAM to
make the compressed air clean-
ing system more efficient.
The Venturi tubes are directly
built into the head made of tech-
nopolymer.

WAMAIR
The function of the controller
board is sequential control of the
cleaning cycle of filtering elements
using compressed air, with the
possibility of changing the blowing
time and pause time between one
blowing cycle and the next.
Pause times range from 5 to 90
sec., operating times range form
100 to 300 milliseconds. The
board is provided with a timer
fixed at 10 minutes to allow further
cleaning of the filter at the end of
the operating cycle.
The WAM controller board can
be powered at 24V260V AC/
DC, 50/60 Hz
and is installed inside a box which
guarantees protection degree
IP66 (in accordance with CEI EN
60529)

Die elektronische Karte hat die
Funktion, den Druckluft-Abreini-
gungszyklus der Filterelemente
sequentiell zu steuern, wobei die
Mglichkeit besteht, die Abrei-
nigungszeit und die Pausenzeit
zwischen einer Abreinigung und
der nchsten zu verndern.
Die Pausenzeiten gehen von 5 bis
90 Sekunden, die Arbeitzeiten von
100 bis 300 Millisekunden. Die
Karte hat einen nicht verstellba-
ren Zeitschalter von 10 Minuten,
um eine weitere Abreinigung des
Filters am Ende des Arbeitszyklus
zu gestatten.
Die elektronische Karte WAM
kann mit Spannungen von 24
V-260 V AC/DC, 50/60 Hz ver-
sorgt werden und ist innerhalb
eines Gehuses installiert, das
die Schutzart IP66 (gem CEI

When sizing a fan, according to
the type of filter, the particle size
and dust concentration, a pres-
sure drop of approximately 70 to
100 mm H2O must be considered.

between the dirty part and clean
part of the filter, for monitoring the
degree of cleanliness of the filter
elements.

A transparent U tube is provided
on the filter body, with one end
connected to the clean part and
the other end to the dirty part
of the filter. It must be filled with
water and the DP can be read by
means of a graduated scale.
V = MDPE WITH DIFFEREN

The MDPE (electronic pressure
difference measuring device)
module is fitted directly on the
WAM standard controller board.
The pressure difference is ex-
pressed on a 3-digit display. By
fixing the two operating pressure
thresholds (minimum and maxi-
mum), it is possible to carry out
cyclic cleaning of the filter only
when it is actually necessary,
thus allowing energy saving. The
preset values are shown in the
table below.
This instrument also allows re-
mote reading of the DP (4-20mA
output) as wells as transmission
of an alarm signal (WK output).

bunden ist. Der Schlauch muss
mit Wasser gefllt werden, um
dann auf einer Skala den Wert
DP ablesen zu knnen.
V = MIT DIFFERENZMESSER
MDPE
Das Modul MDPE (elektronischer
Differenzdruckmesser) ist direkt
auf der elektronischen Steuer-
karte WAM vom Standardtyp
installiert.
Der Differenzdruck wird auf einem
3-stelligen Display angezeigt.
Wenn man die beiden Ansprech-
schwellen (Mindest- und Hchst-
wert) festlegt, ist es mglich, die
zyklische Abreinigung des Filters
nur dann funktionieren zu lassen,
wenn dies tatschlich erforderlich
ist, wobei ein gewisser Grad an
Energieeinsparung mglich ist.
Die voreingestellten Werte stehen
in der folgenden Tabelle.
Dieses Instrument gestattet so-
wohl das Fernablesen des Wertes
von DP (Ausgang 4-20 mA), als
auch das Senden eines Alarmsi-
gnals (Ausgang WK).

provision for installation of the
REMBE anti-burst panels.
The panel can be supplied by
WAM or by the client.
Depending on the explosive ness
index of the powders handled (St1
or St2, see improper use) the filter
must be provided with a panel
with code ODV 490x590 or ODV
586x920 (see Table below).
To avoid damage during trans-
port the panel is shipped in a
separate package.

the dirty air inlet flange can be
covered with a special plate to be
indicated in field 13.
The material used for the con-
struction of this plate shall be
