Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that are passed from one person to another

through sexual contact. The causes of STDs are bacteria, parasites, yeast, and viruses. There are
more than 20 types of STDs

In Indonesia sexually transmitted diseases that often arise are as follows. I will explain according
to the cause.

The cause is bacteria

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease. It is most common in young adults. The

bacteria that cause gonorrhea can infect the genital tract, mouth, or anus. You can get
gonorrhea during vaginal, oral, or anal sex with an infected partner.

Gonorrhea does not always cause symptoms. In men, gonorrhea can cause pain when
urinating and discharge from the penis. If untreated, it can cause problems with the
prostate and testicles.

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by bacteria. It infects the genital area,
lips, mouth, or anus. You usually get syphilis from sexual contact with someone who has
it.

The early stage of syphilis usually causes a single, small, painless sore. If you do not treat
it, syphilis usually causes a non-itchy skin rash, often on your hands and feet

The cause is virus

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. AIDS stands for acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome. It is the final stage of infection with HIV.

HIV most often spreads through unprotected sex with an infected person

The signs and symptoms are Fever, Headache, Muscle ache, Rash, Shivering, sore throat,
Sprue on the mouth or genitals. Enlarged lymph nodes, especially on the neck.

Genital herpes can cause sores on your genital or rectal area, buttocks, and thighs. You
can get it from having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who has it.

Symptoms of herpes are called outbreaks. You usually get sores near the area where the
virus has entered the body. The sores are blisters which break and become painful, and
then heal.

The cause is parasites

Scabies spreads quickly in crowded conditions where there is frequent skin-to-skin

contact between people.
 Symptoms are Pimple-like irritations or a rash, Intense itching, especially at night, Sores
caused by scratching

Pubic pediculosis is a common infection of hair in the pubic area and around it by
Phtyhirus pubis. Pubic lice are usually transmitted to intimate contact between adults.

Feelings of itching in the pubis and surrounding areas, especially when a lot of sweat. In
the pubic area and lower abdomen are found gray or bluish red spots called makula
serulae
