So what can a trip to our career centre do for you?
To start thinking about your career early in life and taking a few preliminary s
teps in the career exploration process during the first few months of your a car
eer will help you in a significant way in your professional life.
The career centre at our college can be a valuable and sometimes funplace for ou
r students. Career counselling forms an important activity in our college and st
udents can benefit out of these. Our Career counselors and advisors can meet on
a one-on-one basis to discuss your career goals and help you focus on your area
of inclination. The faculties of MITSDE are also available to offer their advice
on proper presentation of resumes.
At our career centre our career counselors keep plenty of information about empl
oyers, handy for students to peruse. This includes employment news, company broc
hures, news articles, annual reports, etc. We also maintain collections of emplo
yment newsletters, reference books periodicals and newspapers that contain infor
mation on occupational exploration, emerging occupations, salaries, resume writi
ng, interviewing and more. MITSDE would also be sponsoring career sessions in wh
ich students can meet representatives of one or more companies and learn what th
ey have to offer. Sometimes these representatives are alumni of MIT college, and
can relate how their experiences at a college translate into their current care
er.
We believe early is best, but itâ s never too late. Your first step, though, is to
introduce yourself to a counselor at the career centre.
We offer all these services free of cost and we encourage students to take advan
tage of it.
