Minutes of the Commissioners Meeting


July 19, 2017

The regular scheduled meeting of the Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 was held on
Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at 3500 D B Wood Road. The President, Bobby Bunte being in the
chair, and a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 6.02pm.

Present: Commissioners Bobby Bunte, Bennie Piper, Troy Rodriguez


Absent: Ira Wood
Staff: Ron Barrick, Nancy Rangel
Visitors: Chief John Sullivan, Chief Clay Shell, Eric Johnson w/The City of Georgetown

Meeting

1. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Special Call Meeting held on
May 16, 2017.

Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to carry this item over until the August meeting.
Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carries. Carry over.

2. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular Session meeting
held on June 21, 2017.

Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to approve the Regular Session meeting minutes held
on June 21, 2017. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carried.

3. Presentation of the monthly Treasurers Report and payment of bills by Chris Barrick.

Money Market balance: $4,588,813.75


Checking: $6,384.37
Total Money Market and Checking balance: $4,595,198.12
Commissioner Piper made a motion to accept the Treasurers report for June as read and pay
the bills as submitted. Commissioner Rodriguez seconds. Motion carried.

4. Monthly presentation and report(s) by City of Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan.

Chief Sullivan gave the Board a brief overview of the percentage of ESD8 and EMS related
responses in June as well as other City-wide events and developments that occurred in June.

5. Discussion and possible action regarding the annexation of the Garey Park, and surrounding
properties into ESD8.

Commissioner Rodriguez has sent notice of the August 16, 2017 meeting regarding the
annexation of Garey Park to the newspaper as well as to Chief Sullivan and Chief Shell for
posting.

6. Discussion and possible action related to the construction of Fire Station #6.

Eric Johnson, with the City of Georgetown, presented the Board with a detailed update and Pre-
Construction invoices. As of this meeting we do not have a copy of the signed contract but it is
forthcoming.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to make payment to Terracon in the amount of $750 for
services which come out of the Pre-construction Services Budget Item 8005-08.

Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to pay the Geotechnical Engineering Services fees
from the Pre-construction Services Budget Item 8005-08. Commissioner Piper seconds.
Motion carries.

Carry over.

7. Discussion and possible action for ESD8 Budget planning in FY18.

Chief Sullivan presented the Board with a preliminary draft of the Interlocal Agreement
FY2017/18 Exhibit C. Review and general discussion. No action taken.

8. Discussion and possible action on web and email services.

Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to carry this item over until the August meeting.
Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carries. Carry over.

9. Public Comment.

None.

Next regular session meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at the Public Safety
Operations and Training Center. No further business was discussed or actions taken. Commissioner Piper
made a motion for adjournment. Commissioner Rodriguez seconds. Meeting was adjourned at 8:44p.m.
