PREPARATION
1. Teacher greets the students and asks about their condition. (1)
2. Teacher tells the learning objectives to the students by giving them todays plans (what they
are going to do) to help them to know what will they do in this session. (1)
3. Students are given a review about the material that they have learned from the last meeting
(matrix multiplication). (5)

1. Students listen to teachers explanation about determinant of a 2X2 matrix. (4)

2. Teacher explains the differences between main diagonal and secunder diagonal. (2)
3. Teacher gives an example about determinant of a 2X2 matrix and solves it together with the
students. (2)
- Determine the determinant of this matrix!

4. Students do some exercises about the determinant of 2X2 matrix. (20)

- Tentukan determinan dari matriks-matriks berikut!
 Det A = (-12a)(1) (9)(2a) = -12a 18a
- Jika matriks A = hitunglah nilai jika diketahui det A = 0!
Det A = 0 = ad-bc = (a) (2a 10) (4) (-3)
= 2a2 10a + 12 = 0
= (2a 6) (a 2) = 0
2a = 6, a = 2
Jadi, a = 3 atau a = 2
- Misalkan matriks A = B= dan C = . Jika determinan matriks
adalah , maka nilai = .. ?
5. Teacher chooses students randomly to solve those problems in front of the class. (4)
6. Teacher explains step by step how to get the answer for all numbers. (4)
7. Teacher asks what the students get in this session and asks one students to mention it. (2)

Teacher tells the students what will they have in the next session. (1)
