    Criteria #1: The writing offers a persuasive and convincing


    analysis of the text in response to the question asked.

    Criteria #2: The analysis offers a range of interpretations of


    the text.

    Criteria #3: The textual references are apt and specific.

    Criteria #4: The response demonstrates consistent and


    effective control over the elements of composition in
    language appropriate to the analysis of literature.

    Criteria #5: Having come to the discussion prepared, oral


    participation reflects thoughtful initiation of and response to
    a variety of topics related to the text.
