Abstract: This paper discusses a f amous deba te bet ween Michel Fo uca ul t a nd Jacques
Derrida. In The History of Insanit y in the Age of Reason, t hrough a readi ng of Desca rtes,
Foucault establi shed reaso n and madness as a binary oppo sitio n. Acco rding t o Foucaul t ,
reaso n excludes madness bo th i n reali t y and i n philosophy . But Derri da disag reed wi th this
point and critici zed Foucault 's st ruct ura list readi ng of Descart es. Der rida t reat ed t he relati on
betw een reason and madness as tha t o f di ff erence. Wha t Derri da did , i n the last analysis , is
the fi rst a tt ack f rom deconst ructi onism onto st ructuralism .

Abstract: Post -colo nial criticism is a m uch-di scussed t opic in academic circles. Its
combina tion wi th f emi nist criti cism has giv en bi rth to a new theo ry of cri tici sm post -
colo nial f emi nist cri ti cism. Thi s new approach has creat ed mo re v ari eties i n li terary critici sm
and made theo ry mo re adaptable to reali ty. In thi s essay, the author f irst i nv estiga tes the
cultural backg round a nd discursive feat ures of thi s h ybrid f o rm o f cri ticism, and then, by
ex ami ning how i t w o rks i n practice, i ndi cat es that the m utua l i nv olv ement bet w een sex
conscio usness a nd ethnic politi cs crea tes a very i llumi na ting critical space.

Abstract: In his la ter w o rk To Autumn , Keats ex pressed hi s aesthetic ideas of eradica ting the
identi ty of the poet by merging hi m i nto the nat ural wo rld. He tried to reali ze the creativ e
pow er o f the po et 's im agi na tion in a na tural a nd reali sti c styl e and retai ned the poetic
spo ntaneit y t hrough an ex pression of the poet 's i nner feeli ngs. T hese aesthetic co ncerns
ulti mat el y combi ned wi th his understa ndi ng of lif e, t he wo rld, as w ell as hi s lov e f or his
country , consti tuti ng hi s humanistic spirit. Thus , his po etic pursui t g oes beyo nd
aestheticism and becomes a f o rerunner o f the 20th century poetics.
