II. IMPORTANCE OF THE PROJECT

Air pollution, flood and global warming are the major problems that the world is facing.
We cannot give an immediate solution for these, but we can prevent these problems to happen
now a day. Planting and replacing those trees that were uprooted by typhoons and
indiscriminate cutting by loggers is the best solution that any concern citizen must do. Planting
Mahogany trees will be beneficial not only to the nature but also for business minded people
because mahogany trees are good materials for furniture making.

In order to solve the primary problem of the community regarding air pollution, flood
and global warming its about time to introduce to our pupils and to the community people the
major role of trees in eradicating these problems thru planting Mahogany trees.

Once this project is establish in our school and in the community, they will look forward
to learn the skills with the assurance that they can contribute to the success of the meaningful
project. If the pupil learns the real meaning and importance of planting trees, they will develop
awareness of their role in taking good care of the environment.

The planting and propagating of mahogany seedlings will be done by the Young
Agriculturist of Pura Central Elementary School. Profit earned from the project can contribute
financial assistance for the school feeding program and for the purchase of garden tools and
equipments as well
