2002 -- Gigabyte
Technology, the world
acclaimed motherboard
manufacturer proudly
introduces the Intel

E7205
chipset based motherboard,
GA-8INXP. The board
features supports for the
highly anticipated AGP 8X
and dual channel DDR
memory architecture for
Intel

Pentium
4-based
desktop platforms.
GIGABYTE technology
leadership has once again
proven itself an industry
leader by unveiling
GA-8INXP, the ultimate
desktop based on the Intel

Pentium
4 processor, and
Gigabytes 6-Dual Miracle
design concept.

Im truly excited about Gigabyte Technologys 6-Dual Miracle. They are the 6 key
elements that totally
revolutionize the GA-8INXP while setting it apart from most of todays
motherboards, said Mr. Johnson Lin, the
General Manager of Gigabyte Technology PCBA Product Business Unit. The 6-
Dual Miracle strategy
represents 6 innovative technologies that positions Gigabytes motherboards ahead of
the others, he added.
The 1st
Miracle is represented by the Dual Logical Processor provided by Intels Hyper-
Threading Technology
while the 2nd
Miracle was contributed by the Dual Channel DDR memory architecture. The 3rd
Miracle is
Gigabyte new developed technology known as the Dual Power System (DPS)

design, the 4th
Miracle comes
from the Dual RAID interface which enhances data protection and performance.
The 5th
Miracle is provided by
the Dual Cooling System which greatly reduced the thermal issue, and the final
Miracle is Gigabytes patented
DualBIOS technology which protects BIOS from virus attacks.

The 6-Dual Miracle

Dual Power System (DPS)

Driven by strong design philosophies and innovation, Gigabytes newly developed
technology, known as the
Dual Power System (DPS), is introduced for the first time on the GA-8INXP. The
DPS technology is an ingenious
design that gives you a power circuit with a total of 6 phases - twice the amount
recommended by the standard
motherboard design guideline. In a DPS (Dual Power System) designed
motherboard, an additional 3-phase
power circuit DPVRM (Dual Power Voltage Regulator Module) daughter card is
added on the motherboard. This
effectively provides a more durable and stable power circuit to sustain a larger
electric current of up to 150A. The
DPS (Dual Power System) technology is conceived and specially designed for future
processors that demand a
higher working frequency and a more stable and durable power circuit.

Dual Logical Processors & Dual Channel DDR

The GA-8INXP also features dual channel DDR memory architecture on an Intel
Pentium 4 processor-based
motherboard, delivering a high memory bandwidth up to 4.27GB/s. It gives users
comparable performance to
RDRAM memory which is already well known for its outstanding speed. In
combination with Intels
Hyper-Threading Technology which provides 2 logical processing units in todays
most advanced Intel Pentium 4
processors at 3.06GHz. The GA-8INXP will fully extend the users computing
experience as it boosts system
performance by as much as 30% more than existing processors without Hyper-
Threading Technology.

Dual RAID
With Silicon Image Serial ATA and Promise RAID controller chip, the GA-8INXP
provides 2 RAID functions.
Providing not only RAID 0 (Data Striping) or RAID 1 (Data Mirroring) function, but
through Gigabyte Technologys
outstanding Smart-Bios technology, the GA-8INXP provides two additional
UDMA ATA-133/100 connectors,
allowing users to connect ATAPI devices such as CD-ROM, CD/RW, DVD-ROM
and DVD-RAM. This provides
an extra option for high-density storage devices for various usage requirements.
Dual Cooling System
The Dual Cooling System consists of a DPVRM active fan sink which gives out a
cool, stylish neon-blue colored
light when activated, and an active fan sink located on the chipsets memory
controller. With these two active fan
sinks, the heat produced by the memory controller and MOSFET located on the
DPVRM are greatly reduced.
In addition, the airflow path is designed to drain heat out from the fan sink ditches,
providing extra ventilation to
the surrounding heat dissipating components. With the Dual Cooling System, the
GA-8INXP further reduces an
extra 5 to 10C as compared to other motherboards without an active fan sink.

DualBIOS
On Gigabyte motherboards with DualBIOS there are physically two BIOS chips.
If the main boot up BIOS fails
due to virus infection or catastrophic failure, the back up BIOS automatically takes
over on the next system start
up. This innovative technology assures the motherboards stability and reliability. In
addition, the GA-8INXP
belongs to Gigabyte Technologys new product family known as the P4 Titan 667
series. In this renowned
product series, each of Gigabyte Technologys new Intel Pentium
4 based products is strictly designed, tested
and validated by Gigabyte. The P4 Titan 667 series has been well recognized by
worldwide media for its
superiority in product quality and performance.
Several cutting-edge technologies are also implemented on this outstanding
motherboard, such as the Silicon
Image Serial-ATA interface which delivers high I/O bandwidth up to 150MB/s,
bringing I/O peripherals to a new
era in high-speed storage solutions. On-board, users will find the Intel Gigabit
Ethernet LAN controller that
utilizes the popular Intel LAN connectivity solution at 1 Gigabit data throughput for
those who need
straightforward high speed, high quality and high performance network connectivity.
With an array of advanced technology, the GA-8INXP provides a revolutionary
multimedia experience. The
GA-8INXP features AGP 8X (AGP 3.0), the new generation AGP interface that
delivers 2.1GB/s of bandwidth to
support the graphics workloads associated with an Intel Pentium 4 processor-based
workstation-class platform.
When paired with Gigabytes MAYA II RADEON 9700Pro graphics card users will
experience more realistic and
fluidly rendered graphics. An on-board 6-channel AC97 CODEC brings incredible
sound quality especially with
its S/PDIF-out function that enables users to enjoy high quality audio
Transparent to the user, the GA-8INXP also provide several innovative features such
as the Anti-Burn design
which protects the motherboard from any damages if an AGP 2x (3.3V) card is
inserted or when the memory
module is not properly installed. With Anti-Burn, the AGP_LED will light up
when an AGP 2x (3.3V) card is
installed in the system, indicating the use of an unsupported graphics card. The LED
will warn users of system
abnormality and forms an integral part of the boards self-diagnosing tool for the
AGP subsystem
