Fiscal Stability

Closed a combined $2.5 billion FY15 and FY16 budget deficit without raising taxes and,
for the first time in four years, without drawing down the states rainy day fund.
Massachusetts fiscal 2016 budget holds spending to a lower rate of growth than

Digital Health Council

Through Executive Order, Governor Charlie Baker is establishing a Massachusetts Digital


Healthcare Council (Mass Digital Health Council). The role of the Mass Digital Health
Council is to advise the Governor regarding the digital health industry, and to develop a
growth plan to achieve the goal of creating the leading global ecosystem for digital health in
Massachusetts.
The Councils primary responsibility shall be to deliver to the Governor, by August 2017, a
three-year growth plan that will make recommendations and establish objectives for the
state to promote and accelerate digital healthcare innovation across the Commonwealth.
The Council shall also establish and support programs and projects in order to implement
the growth plan, and produce annually a written report that describes the Councils activities
and progress towards its objectives.
30 members from public and private backgrounds including representatives from:
Higher education;
Healthcare providers;
Investors;
Insurance Organizations;
Massachusetts Health Connector;
Research and Development organizations.
