This Document presents a Basic Requirement and Transport Analysis procedure of jacket carried on the
barge.

1.2 Scope
The scope of this report is to present the hydrostatic characteristics of this transport.
The analysis includes:
Floatation analysis

1.4 Environment Condition

A. Design Storm

For weather unrestricted tow, the design storm for the transport shall be the 10 year return period
monthly extreme storm for the planned route, reduced as appropriate for exposure of less than 30 days.
The transport can also be classed as weather restricted operations which allow the design environmental
conditions to be set independent of extreme statistical data. The analysed design storm together with the
planned route, duration and season determine whether this transport should be classed as restricted or
unrestricted.

The following conditions will be used for this analysis:

Design Seastate
Seastate Hs = __ m, __ < Tp < __ sec
The Tp range follows the recommendation of the Noble Denton Guideline.

To represent the seastate a Jonswap spectrum with a peak shape factor of 3.3 will be used without
Spreading.

The following 5 headings will be used:

0 Stern
45 Quartering stern SB
90 Beam SB
135 Quartering bow SB
180 Head on

Design Wind
The 1 minute mean wind velocity at 10 m above sealevel for the design storm shall be used for the
overturning moment calculations.
In the absence of appropriate wind data the following wind data shall be used:
Intact condition: 100 kn
Damaged condition 50 kn

1.5 Analysis
To perform hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis in MOSES a single body model will be used. The
model consists of one rigid body composed of several compartments. The weights of all items will be
modelled as point loads with correct inertia properties.

1.5.1 Hydrostatic Analysis

The scope of the hydrostatic analysis is to analyse the floating condition including intact and
damaged stability of the transport.

Intact Stability Check

In intact stability condition it is considered that there is no damage in compartments. The software
performs the hydrostatic analysis by ballasting the tanks to achieve the equilibrium.
The barge should meet the following criteria
Range of intact stability shall be more than 36 degrees.
1.2. The area under the righting moment curve to the second intercept of the righting and wind
overturning moment curves or the down-flooding angle, whichever is less, shall be not less than 40%
in excess of the area under the overturning moment curve to the same limiting angle. The wind
velocity taken for overturning moment calculations shall be the lesser of the design wind speed or
100 knots.
1.3. Metacentric height (GM) shall be positive throughout the range shown in 1.1. The initial
metacentric height, GM0, should be adequate to provide positive control with a margin for
computational inaccuracy. A GM0 of around 1.0 m will normally be required, and in any case shall
not be less that 0.15 m.

Damaged Stability check

In damage stability condition it is considered that any of the compartment of the barge is damaged and
the compartment is fully flooded with seawater. In the damaged condition,
The barge should meet following criteria
The tow should have positive stability with any one compartment flooded.
The area under the righting moment curve from the angle of loll to the second intercept of the
righting and wind overturning moment curves or the down-flooding angle, whichever is less, shall be
not less than 40% in excess of the area under the wind overturning moment curve to the same
limiting angle
The wind velocity taken for overturning moment calculations shall be 25meters/second.

Barge Longitudinal Loading

The barge longitudinal loading has been calculated considering the weight distribution of the barge,
cargo and ballast water and the loading due to a hogging and sagging wave.
The maximum bending moment and the maximum shear loading will be checked for still water loading
and hogging and sagging condition against the allowable bending moment and shear of the barge.

1.5.2 HYDRODYNAMIC ANALYSIS

The scope of the hydrodynamic analysis is to report motions and design transport accelerations of
the platform. The MOSES performs the motion analysis on the barge and generates the response
amplitude operators (RAO). The sea states will be generated using the JOHNSWAP spectrum for
headings of 30Degrees of interval.

The motion and accelerations values at the specified locations will be calculated.
The following points have been used to report motions and accelerations
ID X Y Z
Cargo 1
Cargo 2
Cargo 3

The following table presents the maximum single amplitude motions and accelerations of each
degree of freedom of all seastates per heading for report points
