according to DIN 53 015 can be measured with the so-called ISO VG 2 2.2 1.98 2.42

single mid-point viscosity value is approx. 50% larger/smaller ISO VG 1500 1500 1350 1650
than the value preceding or succeeding it. Permissible tole-

Consistency is defined as the resistance of a grease to deformation (similar to the viscosity of lubricating oils).
The deformation properties are dependent on the type and amount of thickener, the viscosity-temperature
characteristics of the base oil stock and the duration of work penetration. Depending on their worked penet-
ration lubricating greases is divided into nine NLGI consistency classes.
51
The labeling regulations for lubricating greases according to DIN 51502 define location of
use, base oil stock, additives, upper service temperature limits and reaction with water.
K PF 2 K -30
for additives:
P EP/AW additives
F Solid lubricants, e.g. MoS2
52
1)
The upper service temperature for permanent lubrication is identical with the
highest test temperature if tested in accordance with DIN 51806-2 and/or DIN
51821-2 as long as tests are passed.
2)
Reaction with water:
0 = no change
1 = slight change
2 = moderate change
3 = strong change
