The most powerful proof of the historicity of the

Resurrection was the impact it had on the original disciples.
Did you know that ten of the remaining eleven disciples
were put to death for their belief in, and preaching about,
Christs resurrection? Want to know more? The Case for
Christ starts September 10. Look for details in the upcoming
Discipleship Catalog.

lighting. Both Lee Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary hazers are
water-based and safe.

NOTES
traditional worship

I had a conversation with a member of the

congregation a few weeks ago. He made a comment
that stuck with me. He said, I always thought that
I was just practicing my faith by being in worship,
but Im realizing there is so much more to it. Where
does the more come from? Its so vitally important
that we consciously connect with what we are doing.
For example, if you knew nothing about God, the
opening hymn this morning refers to twenty-five
different attributes of Gods character. In the singing
of our theology, we praise God for each of these
characteristics while being reminded of who our God
is. But there is more. We can simply sing the words,
or we can actively engage our minds and wills to
express our worship, not to an idea, but to an actual
unseen person, the person of the Godhead. In that
way, worship can be deceptive. Were singing a hymn
in a sanctuary in Orlando, but all of heaven surrounds
us singing praise to the Father. This Sunday were
looking again at the biggest picture of what God is
doing. Worship continually opens us to the biggest
picture of what God is doing and helps us keep the
present, with all its challenges, in proper perspective.
