1. Of what importance is reading to a Senior High School? Support
your answer.
Reading is important because it helps the students to enhance their
knowledge. With the help of books, articles, and other reading materials,
they experience different things because of the scenarios given by the
book. At an early age, they would understand and see the different
perspective of people in life. Reading is a way to learn on a wide range, a
cheap way to experience places and meet different people. Reading doesnt
just focus on your intellectual skills but it also gives importance to your
inner self (emotional, mental, & spiritual).

2. Explain the following statements:

A. Reading has a great influence on personality

When you get to read fictional books, it is possible that you get to
adapt the personality of the characters in it. In reading you have to
analyse and criticize the words said in the book, and in doing that you
have to use your brain and sometimes your emotions. In reading, you
seldom have to put your self on their situations just to understand
their actions. By doing those things, your personality changes for the
better because you get to weigh everything, even your decisions.

B. The act of reading has special therapeutic value

It exercises your brain, refreshing it from all the stress it encounters.

Reading can make you relax and helps you focus on more important
things. It is said that they have therapeutic value because when you
read you get to reflect on yourself. It serves as a mirror to you life,
sometimes your strength in real life could be the weakness of the
person inside the story. You are able to understand and contemplate
on different situations.

C. A person who reads more achieves more

It is because you learn more, it is also said that reading is the avenue
of knowledge. In learning you always have to use your skills in
reading, analysing things and contemplating on situations given.
Readers are the greatest adventurers because they get to experience
other peoples life and their emotions, they also get to travel on to
different places just by using their imaginations. Knowledge and
understanding is one of the greatest weapon that has ever existed.
You enhance your personality just by reading and this way you get to
achieve your goal.
