BASIC SURGICAL SKILLS COURSE

OVERVIEW
The Basic Surgical Skills Course designed by the Association of Surgeons of
Great Britain and Ireland is aimed at training young surgeons in basic surgical FACULTY
skills which are appropriate to any branch of surgery whether in the Afua A. J., Hesse
emergency or elective situation and also to introduce the WHO Surgical Safety Professor, FWACS

To learn safe operating techniques; To understand that careful and sound FWACS

At the end of the course the participant will be proficient in the principles of COURSE DURATION: 2 (TWO)
safe surgery, knot tying, suturing, bowel anastomoses, abdominal wall closure, Days
tracheostomy, chest drain insertion, split skin grafting, vascular trauma,
debridement, tendon repair and the management of fractures. DATES: 14th-15th April; 8th-9th
