Discussion

The objective of the experiment is to evaluate the study measurement of pressure using the an
Absolute Pressure Transmitter (PT1) (ABB MODEL 6243EA ,a Gauge Pressure Transmitter
(PT2) (ABB MODEL 6243EG) A Pressure Gauge (PG). Pressure cannot keep constant so the
exact reading cannot be obtained during the experiment. The air that been pump always
decrease so speedily so the reading should be taken at the time when the setting reading is set.

The Absolute pressure is taken at PT1 at the panel board. The reading shows mean based
from the sensor that been place at the system. The deviation between the theory and the
measurement value is at range 0.165psia - 0.27psia. The average deviation for all the run is
0.2336psia. The Gauge Pressure Transmitter been taken at PT2 at the panel. The reading of
Gauge pressure transmitter is compare to Actual Reading that been taken using a manometer.
The deviation between Gauge Pressure Transmitter and the Actual Reading is at range
0.06psig 1.06psig.The average reading is 0.4778psig. The Pressure gauge is taken at the PG
above the valve PT3. The pressure gauge has low accuracy compare to the manometer. The
eye level of the observer is really an important role to get the correct reading. The deviation
between the pressure gauge and manometer is at range 0.035psig-0.61psig. The average for
the reading is 0.2178psig.

The reading obtain cannot be exact or cannot be fixed because the pressure depleted vary fast.
Using the handheld pump is such a difficult task to get the setting temperature because the
error will always occur. The pressure drop is very fast so the person whos in charge must be
alert when the pressure drop is at the set pressure so that the other person who in charge on
noted down to get the accurate reading without any error. The sitescalibrations of PT1 show
only one of the set is success or pass while another fail. On site calibration of PT2 only 2 set
of reading is pass while another 3 set fail. The reason why of the failure or success is due to
when %deviation is higher than deviation limit.
Conclusion

The objective of this experiment is achieved. The absolute pressure is determined at range
0.165psia - 0.27psia with average 0.2336psia. The pressure gage transmitter is determined at
range 0.06psig 1.06psig with average 0.4778psig. The deviation range for pressure gauge is
0.035psig-0.61psig with average 0.2178psig. The site calibration for PT1 only has one set
success while another is fail. For the site calibration PT2 has 2 set that success while another
fail.

Recommendation

The valve or connection must be in good condition otherwise the reading that get is not
smooth enough that will affect the theory and the result. The equipment must be regularly
maintenance in order for the person who run the experiment will get the smooth and accurate
reading.
