Canigao Island

How to get there:


From Tacloban
Ride a van to Maasin City, you can choose Duptours, Van-vans, or other shuttle
services with a trip to Maasin City via Baybay City.
The fare is Php 200 to Php 220.
Ask the driver to drop you off at Matalom Municipal Hall.
The entrance fee is Php 20 for children 6-12 years old and Php 40 for adults.
The pump boat fare is Php 60.
The first trip to Canigao is 7:00 am but, can be earlier depending on the number
of passengers for Canigao Island. The last trip is 5:00pm

Where to Stay:

In Canigao there are no Hotel establishment in the Island, but their are camping
tents to rent for Php 300.00 per day.
Rentals for table is Php 50.00 each and chair for Php 10.00 each.
Or you can rent a cottage for Php 300.00 for a day.
But if you are a big group and planning to stay overnight in the island, their are
rooms for rent also for Php 1,500.00 per night inclusive of 2 double deck bed,
comfort room and electric fan

Where to eat:

If you were not able to bring food, dont worry because there
are dampa/paluto style canteens in the island. Scallops are P170 per order
and fish is P170/kilo plus P20 cooking fee.
They also offered to cook half a kilo of rice for P55.
Cuatro Islas

Getting There and Around

If coming from Tacloban you can take the commuter van to Maasin (or Hilongos)
via Baybay. You can take Van Van, Duptours or Grand Tours, each with their
own terminals in Tacloban City proper.
After getting off at Inopacan proper head for the municipal hall. The pantalan or
dock for boats headed for Cuatro Islas is right behind the municipal hall.
There are food stalls in the area adjacent to the municipal hall where you can buy
food but to be sure and wanting a wider range of choices we got ours from
Ormoc before hopping aboard the van.

Boat Fare and Other Fees


Boats for 10 people and below: P2,500
Boats for 10-20 people: P3,000
Boats for 20-30 people: P3,500
There is an additional fee of P500 for all islands.
During summer island entrance fees are usually P20 per person, cottage rental is
P200-250 or you could just bring tents if you want to stay overnight.
The municipality of Inopacan is charging P30 per person for a trip to all the
islands.
You can however stay or roam around the beach considered public property
for free.
In any case, P20 is not a big deal if you do want to stay at a private area, say at
the cottages in the southeastern end of Digyo.
Entrance fee: P50/person
Cottages: P350 for open cottages and P500 for closed cottages
Tent Fee: P50 for using your own tent
Lake Danao

To get to Ormoc City by plane,

one has to fly to Tacloban Airport and take a bus/ or private van from there to any
point in Leyte. There are a lot of van terminals in Tacloban such as Duptours,
Van-vans and Grandtours.

Going to Lake Danao from Ormoc City Proper.

You will witness the serene and beauty of the lake by traveling for about 30
minutes to one hour from the city proper.
A terminal for jeepneys and multicabs bound for Barangay Lake Danao can be
found near Ormoc City Public Market, just across Ormoc City Port .Fare is
P40 pesos.
If you want more fun and adventure, you may also opt to ride a habal-habal from
Ormoc City. The fare is from P25 P40 pesos.

WHERE TO STAY

You can stay for a night at Lake Danao if you can provide your own tent or sleeping

WHAT TO DO

Awing to its tranquil and relaxing environment, the lake is a great place for
swimming, boating, kayaking, or fishing.
A house boat can be rented at 500 pesos for a day and a rowing boat at 150
pesos per hour.
Kalanggaman Island

How to go to Kalanggaman Island?

Via Air:

First you need to go to Palompon, Leyte. You can go to Palompon, Leyte via Tacloban
Airport or Cebu Airport (a.k.a. Mactan International Airport).
How to get to Kalanggaman from Tacloban Airport, ride a van going to Palompon. Trip takes
about 4 hours.
How to get to Kalanggaman from Cebu Airport, ride a taxi to go to Pier 3. In pier 3, you can
either ride a SuperCat (fast boat) going to Ormoc or a ship en route to Palompon.
Supercat fare usually costs around P600 while ship ticket costs around P495.
If you chose SuperCat, it takes about 2 hours to reach Ormoc, then you need to ride a van going
to Palompon which can cost you another P150.
Ship from Cebu will take 4 hours to reach Palompon.

Once youre in Palompon, go to Palompon Liberty Park and pay the necessary fees for the Kalanggaman
EcoTour.

You can ride a bike called Potpot to go to Liberty Park. It only costs P3 per person
Boat ride from this point to Kalanggaman Island takes about an hour for regular boats and 35
minutes for speed boats.

Via Land Trip:

There are buses in Manila going directly to Palompon, Leyte. This trip will take about 24 hours to
reach your destination.
Its takes longer but its cheaper (around P1700 per person)
and you will be able to see amazing view along the journey as you will pass many places like
Laguna, Naga, Samar, and the like.
