College in Winston-Salem & Governors School East at
Meredith College in Raleigh
Non-credit curriculum in three areas: students
special interest area (Area I), contemporary thinking
and culture as related to Area I disciplines (Area II), & Application Timeline
linking ideas, actions, theory and practice (Area III)

Area I Curriculum offered: Art, Choral Music, Dance,
with eligible unweighted
English, French (East campus only), Spanish (West class rank complete
campus only), Instrumental Music, Mathematics, application components
Natural Science, Social Science, Theater
No tests taken; no grades given just learning!! Oct. 27, 2017: Completed
650 students application packets due to
$500 tuition per student scholarships available Advanced Studies office via
High School Counselors
Helps bridge high school to college
Seminars, electives, speakers, concerts, field trips, Oct. 30 Nov. 8, 2017:
exhibitions, sports and much more!!!! Applications scored by CMS
25-40% of applicants are accepted Selection Committee
Sessions take place mid-June through end of July

Current Junior OR Sophomore (Dance, Choral Music, or February 2018: Auditions held
Instrumental Music ONLY) enrolled in a N.C. high school for eligible students in
performing arts areas
Legal North Carolina resident
Qualifying score on EOC test in the nominated area (92% or March 2018: Acceptance
higher) letters mailed and tuition due
Ranked in the top 35% of class (CMS requirement only)
