100 kmol/h of a liquid mixture of n-Hexane and Toluene is available at 10 atm. The fresh feed is
premixed with a recycled stream, and enters a separation stage that works at the same pressure, at 180C.
The liquid stream exiting from the first separations stage is brought to 1 atm and sent to a second stage.
The vapor stream exiting from the second stage has a flow rate of 60 kmol/h and a composition of n-
Hexane = 76% mol. The liquid phase exiting from the second stage is compressed to 10 atm by a pump
and mixed to the fresh stream.

Calculate:
1) The composition of the liquid and vapor streams exiting the first separation stage.
2) The temperature of the second separation stage.
3) The composition of the liquid exiting the second separation stage.
4) The composition of the fresh mixture
5) The power of the pump (approximate the density of the liquid mixture to that of the water).

BONUS
The vapor V from the first stage is further heated by a tube/shell heat exchanger, that uses as hot fluid
water steam, available at 400 C and 20 atm, that leaves the exchanger liquid at its boiling point, with a
flow rate of 50 Lt/sec.
6) Calculate the final temperature Tf of the stream V exiting the heat exchanger.
