According to Alberta Education Program of Studies:

Art education is concerned with the organization of visual material, and with having individuals think
and behave as artists. Through art education, students will understand and learn to appreciate art
creation and forms. Art deals with ways in which people express their feelings in visual forms and
focuses on the study of the human condition. Overall, students will gain the ability to create art, express
themselves, and understand

Goals and Objectives:

Drawings: students will be able to record visual information and discoveries


Encounters: students will be able to meet and respond to visual imagery
Composition: students will be able to create appealing images and put together creative
meaning

Student Expectations:

1. Be in your seat, ready to work, when the teacher is ready to start class.
2. Have all materials necessary to work each day as well as any assignments that are due.
3. Stay on task and follow directions the first time they are given.
4. Show respect to the rights and property of others, the school (including all art supplies), and
yourself.
5. Wait to be given permission before speaking in class.
