Most Psycho-educational Assessments Include:

About five to seven hours of testing time spread over 3-4 separate appt.
Intake interview with parents
Feedback interview with parents and child / student, depending on child / students age and parental reference
A written report is finalized during feedback interview, enabling parents and, if appropriate, student to take an active role in
formulating plans for interventions and/or accommodations
Written report is usually completed in 2 weeks of the last day of assessment
We also screen students for Learning Disabilities and Attention deficit hyperactivity

Digitalized testing:

Digitalized testing:

The primary goal of the Gibson Test is to quickly, easily and affordably identify whether any
key cognitive skills are weak which may explain why learning is hard for a student. Knowing
how well a student processes information, their Learning Skill Profile, is the first step to
helping a student succeed academically.

Not an IQ Test

The Gibson Test is not an IQ test. It contains many sub-tests commonly used to generate an
IQ score, but it contains additional sub-tests that assess key cognitive skills that impact
learning. It is possible to have an average or better IQ score yet struggle with some aspect of
learning. IQ scores represent an average of several skills. That average can mask weak skills
because the average can be offset by some high skills. Imagine a car with a great engine and
aerodynamic design but a flat tire. One flat tire can keep even the best car from performing
well.

Used as a screening tool

This assessment is not intended to diagnose any learning disability. However, it will provide
you with a measure of eleven core cognitive skills and provide you with an indication of
relative strengths and weaknesses. It should identify problem areas that may require more
extensive testing to achieve a proper diagnosis if required.

Great Response to Intervention (RTI) Tool

Schools know which students are behind academically. However, they typically do not know
why. The Gibson Test can provide critical information for understanding the underlying
causes of academic challenges and provide a clearer path to a solution

Counseling
Counseling is a type of talking therapy that allows a person to talk about their problems
and feelings in a confidential and dependable environment.

A counselor is trained to listen with empathy. They can help one deal with any negative
thoughts and feelings one has. Psychological therapies include psychotherapy, narrative
therapy, and relationship therapy, which could be between members of a family, a couple, or
work colleagues.

How Counseling can help

Counseling aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain
or making you feel uncomfortable.
It can provide a safe and regular space for you to talk and explore difficult feelings. The
counselor is there to support you and respect your views. They won't usually give advice, but
will help you find your own insights into and understanding of your problems.
Counseling can help you:

cope with a bereavement or relationship breakdown

cope with redundancy or work-related stress
explore issues such as sexual identity
deal with issues preventing you achieving your ambitions
deal with feelings of depression or sadness, and have a more positive outlook on life
deal with feelings of anxiety, helping you worry less about things
understand yourself and your problems better
feel more confident
develop a better understanding of other people's points of view

Counseling can often involve talking about difficult or painful feelings and, as you begin to
face them, you may feel worse in some ways. However, with the help and support of your
therapist, you should gradually start to feel better.
In most cases, it takes a number of sessions before the counseling starts to make a difference,
and a regular commitment is required to make the best use of the therapy.

What to expect from counseling

During your counseling sessions, you'll be encouraged to express your feelings and emotions.
By discussing your concerns with you, the counselor can help you gain a better understanding
of your feelings and thought processes, as well as identifying ways of finding your own
solutions to problems.
It can be a great relief to share your worries and fears with someone who acknowledges your
feelings and is able to help you reach a positive solution.

Counseling can take place:

face to face
individually or in a group
over the phone
by email

How long does counseling take?

Ideally, counseling is terminated when the problem that you pursued counseling for becomes
more manageable or is resolved.
CAREER COUNSELLING

Career counselling and assessment helps students to get an overall guidance for their careers
and interests as well as help them in identifying their strengths and weaknesses further. .

DIFFERENTIAL APPTITUDE TEST (DAT)

An aptitude test is an instrument used to determine and measure an individuals ability to

acquire, through future training, some specific set of skills. The Differential Aptitude Test is
performed under exam conditions and is strictly timed. All questions have a definite right or
wrong answer. The test needs two hours to be administered completely. It consists of six
subtests - Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Abstract Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning,
Space Relations and Language Use.

CAREER DECISION MAKING SYSTEM REVISED (CDM-R)

CDM-R lets students self-assess their interests, abilities and work values, to offer career
interest areas students can use to guide their career decision. Choosing careers or further
education linked to students interests, abilities and values leads to more satisfaction
throughout their career.

MULTIDIMENSIONAL ASSESSMENT OF PERSONALITY (MAP)

This test measures 20 dimensions covering adaptability, achievement, motivation, boldness,

competition, enthusiasm, general ability, guilt proneness, imagination, innovation, leadership,
maturity, mental health, morality, self-control, sensitivity, shrewdness, suspiciousness, social
warmth and tension of normal adult personality.
