Its been a very exciting evening here at the awards ceremony of The Dublin Film

Festival. My colleague, Becky Barlow, has already reported on all of this years big

winners, and Im going to tell you about the remaining categories.

Best Make-up was awarded to the popular action film, Exciting Times. The make-up

artist gave an emotional speech but she refused to cry she told the audience that she

didnt want to ruin her make-up! After much laughter and applause, the next category

was announced. It was the prize for Best Score and it was awarded to the romanticcomedy,

Leo and Sue, for its excellent soundtrack. The celebrity who presented the

award admitted that this soundtrack had made him want to dance when he first heard it.

Then, to the delight of the audience, he started dancing on stage and the crowd loved it

We moved on to the Best Costume Design award, which went to John Jones, the

costume designer on the historical drama, Family Tree, whose costumes have started

new trends across Europe and America. In his acceptance speech, Jones said that his

grandmothers style had inspired his designs, and he dedicated the award to her. The

award for Best Screenplay was given to the writers of the teenage adventure film,

Fifteen Teens, whose script was praised for being original and funny. The two writers

were asked whether it had been difficult to work together on the script. They agreed that

it had been a challenge at times, but insisted that they had respected each others

opinions and cooperated fully.

It was a night to remember, and thats all from me until next years film festival.
