Parent Information
Hello Parents,

You have this letter because your child is interested in being in the Band here at CGE.
Below are some frequently asked questions to help you decide whether Band is right for
your child or not:

Whocanjoin?
All Fourth and Fifth Graders at Cedar Grove Elementary may join.

Doesmychildneedtoknowhowtoplayaninstrument?
No, we will teach your child everything he or she needs to know to play in the
Band.

Whendoesitmeet?
Your child will meet two days a week. Band meets after school every Thursday
from 2:30 4:00. The other day will be a Monday, Wednesday or Friday depending on
the instrument he or she chooses. Rehearsals end at 3:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays but 4:00 on Thursdays.

Whatdoesitcost?
There is a $10 fee for band to cover incidental repairs and then new performance
shirts we will be ordering.

HowdoIgetaninstrument?
Instruments can be rented or purchased from The Music Stop in Murfreesboro.
You may use your own if you have one, but please bring it in so we can make sure it will
work for your child.

WherecanIgetmoreinformation?
On Friday, September 15th from 2:45 3:30 in the Library is our Band
Information Meeting. From 3:30 5:00 we will have auditions in the gym.

WhatdowehavetodoifIminterestedorundecided?
1. Fill out the Band Interest Form, and return it to Mr.Hoppe by
Thursday, September 14th.
2. Go to the CGE webpage click - Faculty & Staff / Related Arts /CGE BAND
FORM. This will send me your contact information.

To help prepare your child for Band we would like to know about your childs Band

blanks. This form needs to be returned to Mr. Hoppe in the Band Room by Wednesday
September 14th.
