Contract: Construction of Area Engineers Office at Ellie House Premises
Subject: Comments for the Design proposal for Fire Protection System of Area
Engineers office.

Reference to your letter dated on 27th February 2017/ 27th April 2017 and further to our letter
forwarded you on 22nd of March 2017, please prepare & resubmit your design proposal for
Fire Protection System with considering the below mentioned comments.

1.0) Warranty for the materials and equipment should not be less than two years ( See page
6-22, section 06 of Employers Requirement)

2.0) Submit 03 copies of shop drawings for piping, conduit, and duct work and various
item of equipment.

3.0) Provide manufacturers detailed shop drawings

4.0) Engineers approval for samples of Break Glass unit, Fire Alarm Bell, GI pipe, Pipe
Fittings, Trunking & conduit accessories, Hose Reel nozzle, rubber hose, isolating
valve, cables, pipe supports should get.

5.0) All the materials, equipment and accessories should be according to the standards of
B.S.5306- Part 01, Rules of Fire Offices Committee (FOC) UK, B.S.5306-Part3 and
manufacturers should mentioned in their manuals of the standard details.

6.0) Fire department approval should provide with all the equipment and accessories

7.0) Pipe drawings should consist with all pipes with their diameters, drains, tubes, pipe
fittings, valves, hangers, sleeves and all accessories connected there to be for the
complete piping installations.

8.0) Pipe materials should be according to clause 2.6.2 in Section 06- Employers
Requirement
9.0) Please check clause 2.6.3 to 2.6.14 for pipe fittings and accessories in Section 06-
Employers Requirement

10.0) Fire Department Approval should forward with pump specifications

11.0) Electrical equipment and installation should be according to the clause 2.8.1 to 2.8.16
in section 6-Employers Requirement

12.0) Flow switches, pressure switches, pressure gauges, water level switches should
consist in shop drawings

13.0) Contractors representative and design engineer should sign the shop drawings before
forward for the approval of Engineer.

14.0) Pressure test should be carried out prior to acceptance of pipe work.

15.0) Factory and onsite tests should be according to the clause 2.10.5 to carried out if
Engineer request
