Nov 2016- Jan 2017: Programs Manager (Consultancy) : SAWA for Development and
Aid (Lebanon) . Main duties: strategic planning of current and
future programs, following up with plans and ensuring appropriate
implementation, as well as overseeing and evaluating outcomes
and concrete objectives. Was in charge of three departments:
Relief, Education, Development &Livelihood on a daily
operational basis including budgeting, evaluation and fundraising
with Donors.

Feb 2015-Aug 2016 Freelance media Consultant , writer and trainer, Lebanon, Syria

and goals, addressing potential donors for funding on behalf of
beneficiary, reviewing content and suggesting editorial

information, press and cultural activities for the EU Delegation;
Held festivals, concerts and theatrical performances as well as
media campaigns on EU subjects. Liaison and cooperation with
local authorities and follow-up of EU programmes. Networking
with donors. Organization of information activities (seminars,
conferences and round-tables) on EU-Syria cooperation. Drafting
press releases to the media and supply of background material for
interviews, reports etc, in addition to writing a weekly press
analysis for circulation to headquarters and counterparts. Editing of

and workshops for visiting American guests as well as local artists
and academic professionals. Duties consisted of organizing
programmes, designing posters, pamphlets, brochures and other
promotion materials by use of computers, and issuance of press
releases in English and Arabic and follow up on activities with
NGOs and official authorities to ensure cultural exchange between

USIS and Syrian audiences. The job also required collaboration
with colleagues for though it was a managerial job; the work
depended on team work. It involved a lot of public relations and
knowledge of political and cultural situation in Syria. Acted as
liaison officer with Ministries of Culture and Information.

May-June 1995 UNFPA Syria Communication Assistant

Training of Trainers in communication skills and advocacy,


including use of computers, cameras, and other media equipment.
Editing and design of printed messages, and implementation of
Social mobilization activities.

1992-1995 UNICEF Syria Communication Officer

Drafting documents and reports for the Country Program, was in


charge of the Communication Plan of Action and implementation
of its activities as well as evaluation of goals and objectives set in
the Master Plan of Operations. Activities included design, pre-
testing, production and evaluation of brochures, studies, lectures,
radio and television advocacy messages, as well as organizing
concerts, fairs and fundraising activities for sale and promotion of
UNICEF greeting cards. A considerable amount of work was
performed through NGOs and the Ministry of Information. The job
also required organizing and setting up visits and training programs
for local media personnel in conjunction with foreign media
experts such as Saatchi & Saatchi. Special advocacy campaigns
were designed for Women groups.

interviewing, dispatching stories and followup to HQ and other AP
offices, reporting and updating events/stories/features, collecting
and supplying background information on news as well as
