I, Ritesh Arora wish to pursue masters in Data Analytics in your prestigious

institute.

It is rightly said that Mathematics is the queen of all sciences. I, Ritesh Arora
became interested in mathematics since middle school. It was not inadvertent
that i began to like math from such a young age, but due to the extraordinary
teacher i had who fostered my interest in Mathematics from such a young age.
As i grew older i started appreciating more and more the beautiful order and
harmony of Mathematics. I particularly like the idea that problems in our daily
life motivates mathematician to devise appropriate methods to study and
hence resolve those problems.

Broadly there are two branches of Mathematics viz pure and applied
mathematics. I am interested in Applied Mathematics which includes topics
such as Numerical Techniques (Regression, Approximation, Curve fitting and so
on) and other subjects relevant to mathematics and daily life. My key interests
lies in these areas in which data is given and we are to use tools learnt in
Numerical Techniques and Statistics course in order to make sense out of it. I
was very intrigued by Numerical Techniques when i first studied it.I also did a
mini project for myself based of Curve fitting technique. It was based on idea
to predict the next headache and intensity given data of preceding headaches
over an year or so.

My math courses which i took were mostly rewarding in terms of satisfaction

and amazement. In Calculus courses i was amazed to see how notion of limit
and derivatives which originates from idea of instantaneous speed could lead
to such a huge development of the subject. In Real Analysis course i studies the
methodologies towards creating rigorous and coherent mathematical proofs
and to think logically and clearly. Differential equations and Numerical Analysis
(which includes programming in FORTRAN 77) unravelled the applied aspect of
Mathematics. I learnt about writing simple programs in FORTRAN 77 to solve
complex computational mathematical problems which would have been
difficult otherwise.

I have frequently taken part in Mathematics besides by academia. I also

tutored high school students and read several books on Mathematics and my
interests increases day by day as i go along. I am also interested in numbers
which forms backbone of so called number theory.

Finally, i would love to pursue this course. As World Wide Web is expanding
everyday as a result tons of data is generated daily.I would love to use
mathematics have already learnt and will learn in future to interpret data and
to reach conclusions.
