What do you think of the entry and contracting process?
In the Peppercorn Dinning case the entry and contracting process was planned by Erica as she
had already worked at Peppercorn Dining and must know the insides about the operations of
the restaurant. The Consultants Roger, Lynn and Erica took the project based on personal
relationship and formed a successful agreement to continue with auditing the operations of
Peppercorn Restaurant. A successful contracting meeting is a meeting where the consultants
and clients reach to continue operations at the end of the meeting (Anderson, 2012).
Therefore the consultants have made the entry strategically and reached the contract to audit
the restaurant.

Are you satisfied with the quality and quantity of data collected by the
consultants?
Roger, Lynn and Erica used both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection by
interviewing the students who eat at the restaurant, employees and management of the
restaurant and representatives of the parent dining organization of the university. There are
different types of data collection techniques which are classified into quantitative and
qualitative data collection techniques, which include using questionnaires, conducting
interviews and focus group, taking observations and elicitation (Ryan & Bernard, 2010).
Therefore the data collection method used was reliable and the consultants can now use the
collected data for further analysis. Also the time spent between the first meeting with Drew
and the day consultants did data collection, consultants had the enough time to prepare the
questionnaire to be used in data collection with the help of the previous employee Erica.

How will you analyze the data collected? How will you make sense of
the situation at Peppercorn?

Analysis of Data Collection

The data collected could be analyzed with the help of graphical analysis, for which excel or
SPSS could be used. The replies of the respondents could be converted into codes and then
entered into SPSS or excel to cross analyze the data collected for analysis. Different statistics
could be used for further analysis, like comparing averages, mean, standard deviation and
ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). For data analysis a researcher has to choose between
different available statistical methods and apply the one which produce desired results (Peck,

3
Olsen, & Devore, 2012). Consequently the consultants have gathered data using quantitative
and qualitative data collection technique.

Situation at Peppercorn
The Management of Peppercorn is about to receive a new dining facility and it needs to show
good results for the operations of the restaurant. This will enable the management to stand
worthy of the investment the university has announced to make in creating a new dining
facility for Peppercorn Restaurant.

What is your plan for the feedback meeting? How will you feed back
your analysis and what outcomes do you want from the meeting?

Plan for feedback Meeting

Plan for feedback meeting is to compile all the results in form of graphs and delivery a
presentation on all the operational aspects of the restaurant.

Presenting the feedback

The results of data collected will be presented by using frequencies, mean and standard
deviation along with explanation of each aspect will be provided by the consultants.

Outcomes from the meeting

The outcomes from the meeting will be to continue operations with Peppercorn Restaurant
and continue to serve them as consultants.

To be able to provide management of the Peppercorn with useful information on how to

increase the revenues produced by the restaurant while increasing the quality standards.
