Brian Doriot: My steps toward full-time ministry

Here is a summary of the way the Lord has been leading me, step by step, leading toward full-time ministry
in Indonesia, Lord willing. Here are the steps I have taken, and what I anticipate at the moment:

2011 Visited Indonesia with my parents - and we all saw how I could be useful there in many ways.

2012 Took a course at DBU, to get back into college studies.

2013 Studied linguistics at GIAL Dallas, to prepare myself to help in Bible translation, etc., in various ways.

2014 Went to Indonesia on my own, and spent six months in Medan, North Sumatra, where I increased my
proficiency in Indonesian, and shared in various churches and to other groups.

2015 Completed the Oxford course, for teaching English as a second language,

2015 In October, went to Indonesia again for three months, helping my parents and checking with the GIDI
national church on specific needs where they needed me to minister.

2016 Spent four months in the US, getting more involved with my parents ministry, preparing to go to
Indonesia on basically a full-time basis.

2016 June: heading to Indonesia for Lord willing - a one year ministry with the GIDI national church,
expecting to be involved in: 1) assisting the GIDI translation department; 2) teaching in the new GIDI
evangelism and missions school (Otto Kobak Missions Center); 3) teaching English to church leaders and
selected students who plan to study abroad in English to enhance their church ministries; 4) working with my
parents in plans to greatly develop the Nalja tribal area in spiritual and community development ministries
(helping a lot of unemployed college students from the Nalja area to become useful in their home areas).

Need: $1,000 per month in support for one year, from June 2016 to May 2017, and 100 prayer supporters. I
will then return to the US, assuming things go well, to: 1) Determine the organization with which I will work
permanently; 2) Set up a member care support system suitable to meet my needs on the field; 3) Raise
additional support.

Then I plan to return to the field to work full-time in ministry in Papua, Indonesia. In addition to the
ministries mentioned above, I will likely be involved as well in mobilizing Indonesians from other parts of
Indonesia, encouraging them to get involved as the Lord leads them, to properly reach some of the least
reached people groups (including many small tribal groups in Papua) in their own country.
