Project description:

The residential project Lakeland Residence 3U+G+15F

entails the construction of an apartments building in the
north-east area of Bucharest, within Colentina quarter, on
the shore of lake Plumbuita.

The location is approximately 20 m from the shore, on top of

the ancient riverbed of Colentina, which required the solution
of molded walls for supporting the walls of the excavation.

The building will include 144 apartments, located on 15 level

and on the ground floor. The 4 elevators available inside the
two staircases of the building will connect the upper floors to
the three-level underground parking area.

 The excavation was carried out using the cable-actuated
excavation head. The slurry walls were excavated with
bentonitic mud on the whole depth of the excavation. The
pouring of the concrete was performed with Contractor
Method, using Tremie tubing. The insertion of the rebar
cages was executed in two segments for each panel, the
segments then requiring the welding of the rods. The circular
joints ensure a good adherence between the concrete
surfaces and a high waterproofing of the screen. The joints
are made of metal tubing and require special equipment for
insertion and then extraction afterwards. The size of the
panels is determined by the excavation head used.

The duration of the work amounted to four months.
