Digital PHOTOGRAPHY

Course Description
Digital Photography (Microsoft Press) introduces participants to the world of digital photos, cameras. The instructor led,
project workshop leads the participants to learning how to use digital cameras, computer software, and hardware in
taking, storing and editing digital pictures.

Course Objective
To introduce participants to digital photos and cameras
To learn how to use digital cameras in taking pictures
To learn how to edit digital photos and store them.

Prerequisite
A digital camera with at least 1.5 mega pixel resolution and standard features
Thorough knowledge and skill in using Windows or MS Office
Mouse handling skills
Skills and awareness of Windows concepts like file management, cut, copy and paste commands.

II. Using a Digital Camera

Parts of a Digital Camera

Storage/ Memory
Activity: take photographs of different sceneries
III. Storing Digital Photos

Transferring pictures from camera to the PC


Graphic file type and their characteristics/ uses
Compressing pictures
Activity: transfer pictures to PC and compress them
IV. Editing Digital Photos

Resizing Digital photos


Changing the pictures properties
Storing pictures

V. Group Activity

Split the participants into groups


Each group takes pictures that tell a story
Each group must take not less than 10 photos
Photos are stored in the PC
Each group makes a presentation to tell the story of the photos taken
