1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Overview
The first version of FluxMotor is available. The use of FluxMotor requires 15 HWUs.

1.2 Documents to read

It is highly recommended to read the User guides before using FluxMotor:

InstallGuide_EN_2017_0519.pdf

UserGuide_Supervisor_EN_2017_0519.pdf
UserGuide_MotorFactory_EN_2017_0519.pdf
UserGuide_MotorCatalog_EN_2017_0519.pdf
UserGuide_PartLibrary_EN_2017_0519.pdf
UserGuide_PartFactory_EN_2017_0519.pdf
UserGuide_Materials_EN_2017_0519.pdf

Several documents also allow a quick starting for using FluxMotor.

1.3 Warnings

The list of the main troubles or bugs present in the first version of FluxMotor is presented
below.

2 WARNING LIST
2.1 Motor Factory Design area

1) The default polarization of the magnet Imi_Layer_01C is wrong. The users must
corrected it by using the polarization function of Motor Factory.

2) When using a magnet with a symmetric topology and consequent poles, the
visualization of the symmetric part of the polarization is wrong. However, the
computation is right.

3) Sometimes, the modification of user input parameters can take a few seconds before
being taken into account.

2.2 Motor Factory Test area

2.2.1 Static performance Sine wave Torque speed
1) The computation of mechanical losses by using the automatic mode doesnt work.

2) The computation of additional losses give wrong results.

3) Number of computations for speed:

The default values have been set to get a good accuracy. That can lead to a higher computing
time: from 15 to 30. As a first step, in order to get a quick overview of the motor behavior, it
could be relevant to set the number of computations for speed equal to 10.
Note: To gain in computation time, first reduce the number of computations for Id, Iq in order
to keep a maximum of accuracy. See below.
4) Number of computations for Id, Iq:
The default values have been set to get a good accuracy. That can lead to a higher computing
time: from 15 to 30. As a first step, in order to get a quick overview of the motor behavior, it
could be relevant to set the number of computations for Id, Iq equal to 5.

5) When using unit different from SI for current, voltage and torque, the iso-values are not
displayed in the characteristic curve of the test: Static performance Sine wave Torque
speed.

2.2.2 Miscellaneous
1) Sometimes (very rarely) results of a test cannot be saved. In that case, all the other test
results not yet saved wont be able to be saved.
It is recommended to save test results as soon as they are available.

2) Legends of maps dont take into account the modification of units.

3) The automatic computation of the rotor initial position is wrong when a magnet with
consequent pole topology is used.

4) For the following tests: Static performance Sine wave Torque speed and Characterization
Model MAPS, the displaying of maps axis values are not displayed when the considered
values are very low.

2.3 Motor Factory report

1) It is not possible to export a report with the same name than a folder located where the report
has to be stored.

2) In Excel file, defining the part topology (dimension), it is not possible to select the following
arrow (---->) with combo box. The users must write the arrow like this: ---->

2.4 Motor Factory Quick building

1) No lower limit is defined for the airgap length. This can cause trouble when tests are performed
with machine where the airgap length has a very small value.

2) When quick building panel is opened it is possible to expand the main menu of Motor Factory (it
is not normal). Clicking on the available actions lead to error. See illustration below.

Expanding the main menu with the quick building panel

3) When the users create a new motor by using "Quick Building" panel,
This motor still exist, after exiting from Motor Factory and without ever having saved it.

2.5 Part Library

1) After having created a new library, the associated comment cannot be modified.
The user has to create a new library (with the right comment) and import all the parts stored inside
the former library (with the wrong comment).

2) Attachments of Library: if the users want to remove one attachment among several, the
"Remove action" always removes the first attachment in the list.

2.6 Motor Catalog

1) After having created a new catalog, the associated comment cannot be modified.
The user has to create a new catalog (with the right comment) and import all the motors stored
inside the former catalog (with the wrong comment).

2) Attachments of Catalog: if the users want to remove one attachment among several, the
"Remove action" always removes the first attachment in the list.

3) When selecting multiple motors and comparing them, the resulting output table does not have
any units.

4) Sometimes (very rarely), there is an error message when running "Motor Catalog" just after
having installed FluxMotor.
"Motor catalog" doesn't work the first time, but it works when second launch.

2.7 Materials
1) When opening Materials application, six warning message are appearing. They indicate that
there is a missing user repertory.

2) Missing units in the cursor legend screen. See below.

2.8 Supervisor User preferences

1) The number of decimal after dot defined in user preferences is not take into account.
