The project is all about how the problem is being faced and is
being eliminated by the combined efforts and study of science and
mechanical engineering.
The project is made in the Material Testing Laboratory, Ordnance
Factory Ambajhari Nagpur. We projectees come to the conclusion of
making this project because while testing and doing the Micro Analysis
(Metallography Testing) of the RDE 40 aluminum plate there is a
problem i.e. for the Micro Analysis during the sample preparation we
found that cutting is a major problem by drilling machine manually. To
eliminate this problem we make a comprehensive study of the machines,
drills, the Aluminum material RDE 40 and the Metallography Process.
After this study we come on a conclusion that what we have to do is, to
make a special fixture for holding the plate & a special tailor made tool to
cut the sample, for this we again study various types of tool material,
Tools ,fixture, how to design the tools and fixtures. To make all this study
we refer various manual, journals, websites IS specifications etc.
After studying first we made a fixture which will hold the job tightly
to eliminate the fatigue and enhance the safety to labor and operator,
then made a special tool of HSS which will cut the material very
efficiently without any hesitation.
The pictures and diagrams and photos in project and presentation
are very neat and clearly which will understand the project very easily
and clearly. We also understand that some of the propositions of this
work will inspire to other in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
