Construction Equipment and Apparatus

1. SAW - A saw is a tool consisting of a

tough blade, wire, or chain with a hard toothed edge. It is
used to cut through material, most often wood.

2. CHAIN SAW - A chain saw is a portable,

mechanical saw which cuts with a set of teeth attached to
a rotating chain that runs along a guide bar.

3. POWER WRENCH - The purpose of a wrench is to

turn a bolt head or nut. And a power wrench is a type
of wrench that is powered by other means than human force.
A typical power source is compressed air.

4. DRILLS - A drill is a tool used for boring holes in

various materials or fastening various materials together
with the use of fasteners.

5. NAIL GUN - These devices shoots out nails,

propelling them into wood and other materials. They
work much more quickly than the traditional hammering
method.
6. JACK HAMMER - A jackhammer is a pneumatic
or electro-mechanical tool that combines a hammer directly
with a chisel. They are used to break up rock, pavement,
and concrete.

7. STATIONARY CONCRETE MIXER -

A concrete mixer is a device that homogeneously
combines cement, aggregate such as sand or gravel,
and water to form concrete.

8. NAIL - In woodworking and construction, a nail is

a pin-shaped object of metal (or wood, called a treenail or
"trunnel") which is used as a fastener, as a peg to hang
something, or sometimes as a decoration. Generally nails
have a sharp point on one end and a flattened head on the
other, but headless nails are available.

9. REBAR (short for reinforcing bar) - collectively known as

reinforcing steel and reinforcement steel, is a steel bar or mesh
of steel wires used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and
reinforced masonry structures to strengthen and hold the concrete
in tension.

10. DUCT TAPES - find their prime use in air conditioning duct
work that requires excellent adhesion in tapes. The duct tape is a
cloth-backed adhesive tape, easy to rip than to cut. With its three
layers that are polyethylene, fabric mesh and adhesive, this duct
tape exhibits good insulation properties.
11. A SPIRIT LEVEL, bubble level or simply a level is an instrument
designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal (level) or vertical
(plumb).

12. . A HARD HAT - is a type of helmet predominantly used in

workplace environments such as industrial or construction sites to
protect the head from injury due to falling objects, impact with other
objects, debris, rain, and electric shock.

13. . CROWBARS - are commonly used to open nailed wooden

crates, remove nails, or pry apart boards. Crowbars can be used as any
of the three lever classes but the curved end is usually used as a first-
class lever, and the flat end as a second class lever.

14. A TRY SQUARE is a woodworking or a metalworking tool

used for marking and measuring a piece of wood. The square refers
to the tool's primary use of measuring the accuracy of a right angle
(90 degrees); to try a surface is to check its straightness or
correspondence to an adjoining surface.

15. PLIERS are made in various shapes and sizes and for
many uses. Some are used for gripping something round like a
pipe or rod, some are used for twisting wires, and others are
designed to be used for a combination of tasks including cutting
wire.
16. A WHEELBARROW is a small hand-propelled vehicle, usually
with just one wheel, designed to be pushed and guided by a single
person using two handles at the rear, or by a sail to push the
ancient wheelbarrow by wind.

17. A POWER TROWEL (also known as a "power float",

"helicopter" or "trowel machine" or "whirlybird") is a piece of
light construction equipment used by construction companies and
contractors, to apply a smooth finish to concrete slabs.

18. A PLUMB BOB, or plummet, is a weight, usually with a pointed tip

on the bottom, suspended from a string and used as a vertical reference
line, or plumb-line. It is essentially the vertical equivalent of a "water
level".

19. A SHOVEL is a tool for digging, lifting, and moving bulk materials,
such as soil, coal, gravel, snow, sand, or ore. Most shovels are hand tools
consisting of a broad blade fixed to a medium-length handle. Shovel blades
are usually made of sheet steel or hard plastics and are very strong.

20. SCAFFOLDING, also called scaffold or staging, is a temporary structure used

to support a work crew and materials to aid in the construction, maintenance and
repair of buildings, bridges and all other man-made structures.
