Proof of English Efficiency

If English is an official language in your home country OR you already achieved a bachelor degree,
that has been taught 100% in English OR you had at least 6 years English classes at school, then you
are not required to prove your English proficiency. All other bachelor and master applicants are
required to provide the following language certificates.

Accepted language certificates and required levels:

TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language

Niveau: internet based test 72-94 Punkte

TOEIC: Test of English for International Communication

Niveau: listening 400-485 Punkte, reading 450 Punkte

IELTS: International English Testing System

Niveau: IELTS Academic min. 5,5-6,5 Punkte

TELC English
Niveau: B2 School, Business or Technical

ESOL Cambridge University: English for Speakers of Other Languages

Niveau:
o Cambridge English: First (FCE),
o Certificate in English Language Skills: Vantage
o Cambridge English: Business Vantage

CET: College English Test (Niveau Band)

Pearson PTE Academic: min. 59 Punkte
Proof of German Language Efficiency

Foreign applicants who wish to study at our university must provide sufficient German
language efficiency in the form of language certificates (TestDaf/DSH/Telc/Goethe
Certificate).

Energy Supply Technology B2 language level must be reached by the end of

the 4th semester and prooven by a certificate.

The following people are exempt from providing

German language certificates:

Holders of German university entrance qualifications (Abitur, Fachhochschul-

reife, or equivalent, in Germany or at a German school abroad)
Applicants who have already completed German language studies at a
German university or at a university abroad (proof required)
Applicants who are German native speakers: from Austria, Lichtenstein,
South Tirol, Switzerland and Luxembourg
Holders of "German A (Higher Level)" in the International Baccalaureate
Holders of Goethe certificate C2

Language certificates must be less than 3 years old!
