classroom! Thank you for your donations of
supplies for our classroom! We are so
thankful!
Homework
Continue to complete items on your
September homework calendar. We have
enjoyed seeing and hearing about the fun
learning opportunities our friends have had
with their families. Also, remember to read
each night and record it on your reading
calendar!
Lunch Money Reminder
If your child does not use a lunch
number to purchase his or her lunch, he
or she needs to bring $2.35 for lunch
each day. See the front office or our
cafeteria manager if you have any
questions about applying for our school
lunch program. We are only allowed to
serve fruits and vegetables to those
students who repeatedly are without
their lunch money and we dont want
anyone to be hungry. We recognize that
our students are at their best
academically when theyve had a
healthy breakfast, a mid-morning snack
and a healthy lunch. Thanks for all that
you do to help us with this!

We continue to work on building
relationships within our classroom &
reviewing rules and procedures so
that we can be the best learners
that we can be at Rogers Lane! We
are working on identifying story
elements (who are the characters,
what is the setting, what is the
problem in the story, how do the
characters solve their problem). We
are writing sentences that answer
the 5 Ws (who, what, when, where,
and why) about the stories that
weve read aloud as a class. We are
continuing to build on our number
sense by graphing, counting, and
completing simple addition tasks.
We are increasing our read to self
stamina each day!
Arts Camp
This past week our friends
participated in activities where
they learned how they are
people smart, word smart,
math smart, and art smart.
This week we will learn about
how we are music smart, body
smart, and nature smart. We
are having fun meeting all the
Specialist Teachers at Rogers
Lane!
