Applications for membership to the Planning Engineers Organisation do not include a


face-to-face professional interview or the sitting of an examination. The application
process is therefore necessarily very comprehensive.

Please read this application form in full before starting to complete it, especially the
sections about the project case study and the dissertation paper. Incomplete
applications will be rejected.

The details that you enter in the shaded boxes will be included on the PEO website.

This application form requests personal information as well as project information. Any
personal information we collect from the application will be used in accordance with the
Data Protection Act 1998. Project information will only be used for the purposes for
which it is sent to us, that is to publicise on the PEO website information that is of interest
to other planning engineers / schedulers. See the PEO Privacy Policy for further details.

Photograph(s) or Image (s): This is optional, but preferred. Attach with this application
no more than 3 photographs or images of the project in your case study.
Dissertation Paper

Dissertation Paper (to be completed only by those applying to the Member (MPEO) or
Fellow (FPEO) Grade). With your application, you must submit a dissertation paper on a
planning related subject of your choice. Illustrative examples of dissertation papers
including; planning methods, lead times, logistics, materials handling, commissioning /
setting to work, labour levels forecasting, particular erection methods and the like. The
dissertation paper should be your own work comprising not less than 2000 words and
must include at least two photographs or graphics. Copyright will remain with the author
(who by the act of submitting the dissertation paper warrants that it is his / her own work),
but the author also grants (by the act of submitting the dissertation paper to the PEO) a
perpetual and free licence to the PEO, or any name it in future trades under, to
reproduce and use that paper in any way it see's fit. Previously published papers in your
own name are permitted. The Planning Engineers Organisation reserves the right to
publish all or part of your dissertation paper on it’s website or where two or more
dissertation papers are submitted on the same subject, the PEO may combine two or
more papers together to form a consolidated paper. In all cases, credit will be given to
the author(s) of published papers. Dissertation papers must be submitted using Microsoft
Word and must be A4 landscape format.
