S PECI FICATIO N
The lum na re shall be McGraw-Edison Resillte caialog
number (specify) and shall include the following features:
Luminaire housing shall be die cast aluminum and con-
tain the bailast asserrbly, socket and reflector assembly
It shall mouni on (3-inch O. D pole top) (McGraw-Edison
wall bracket) (1%-inch pipe size, mast arm tenon) or (top
mount with 1%-inch pipe size threaded n pple). Houslng
for wall bracket or mast arm mounting shall be (with)(with-
out) photocontro receptacle.
Photometric perlormance Lurninaire efficiency shall not
be less than 657" of the bare lamp with not less than 40%
of the bare lamp lumens being directed to the downward
street side of the lurninarre and not more than 20% curb
side. Upward component shall not exceed 4% Performance
shall be such that the light projected upon the roadwav
shall decrease uniformly without excessive striations as
the distance is increased from the luminaire
Sliplitter shall have iniegral cast lugs designed to align
the luminaire. lt sha have a srngle hex head bolt to hold
housing securely.
Reflector shali be removab e, and shall be hlghly pol shed
aluminum treated to provide a specular surface and shall
be fluted design. lt shal be consiructed from corrosion-
resistant sheet aluminum finished with Alzak process.
Socket-tilter shall be neoprene-coated flberglass and shall
be posltioned around the socket in such a manner that it
shall allow circulation of air through the optical assembly
and effectively filter out external coniaminants.
Reflector gasket shall be whrte polyester felt attached to
the lower flange of the reflector. lt shall provide a cushion
between the reflector and refractor and seal ihe optical
system against the entrance of external contaminants.
Belractor shall be prismatic borosil cate glass and shall
produce (asymrnetric) (symmetric) IES type light patterns.
Refractor ring shall be die cast aluminum wiih iniegral
cast hinge pins. lt shall have an external, positive-closing,
togg le type latch.
High pressure sodium lamp ballast shali be autotransformer
reactor hlqh power factor type rated (70) ( 100) ('150..) watts with
an inpur of (120) (208) (240) (277) (480) volts
Terminal block shall be a high grade electrical phenolic
rnaierial. lt shall be located to permit easy connection of
luminaire leads and service leads. lt shall accommodate
conductors up to #6 A.WG
Photocontrol receptacle (where applicablei shall be fric-
tion rotation type allowing proper positioning of photo-
control without the use of tools, and shall meet EEI-NElVlA
requirernents for 3.terminal, polarized, lock-in type recep-
tacles. Luminaires shall be connected to provide (specify)-
volt operation of the photoelectrlc control.
Finish shall be thermoset acrylic enamel-aluminum,
black or bronze color
