INTRODUCTION
My On-the-job training (OJT) at the University Relations Office (URO) in the
University of the East, Manila. I chose to have my OJT at the University Relations Office
because of the departments reputation for being able to promote and advertise the
University while also maintaining its online page and hotlines. Being able to create
articles that could affect the image and standing of the school is one of my reasons for
working at URO. I started to work at URO on the 12th of May 2017. Inquirer Esports,
Phoenix Publishing, Couples for Christ Radio were also the choices I had when
deciding which to pursue on my internship. It took me some time to realize that starting
my OJT in the University can help me hands on the administrative work at the
University.
II. PERSONAL ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING FROM THE COMPANY
A.
Being able to utilize my memory when remembering the names, details, pages
and other information of a student and also when writing articles, press releases. Using
the edges of memory sharpness, I have been able to create promoting advertisements
which helped me exercise my thinking capacity.

B.
I have learned first-hand the concept of professionalism and control inside the
workplace in my time in the University Relations Office. Helping people with their work
and get to know each people in the workplace to be able to continue the work and help
each other with the tasks you get everyday hand in hand.

C.
Doing extra load of work and keeping the workplace a peaceful area where
another task I was given that have improved my physical ability to handle a lot of stress
while also adapting to the environment that I am in. Also, as workforce were scarce in
the workplace, I was tasked in carrying, delivering and also lifting heavy loads of books
and panorama (yearbook) from the stockrooms or delivering to a different location which
led to me gaining a lot of physical capacity equal to a day at the gym.
 III. AREAS TO IMPROVE
A.
Improving my memory and thinking capacity is one of the most essential things
that I have yet to achieve in a full level because of a lot of stress and works given at the
same time. Having to focus on the task is another room for improvement that I can see
in myself.

B.
University Relations Office is a place where I have learned a lot but it will be
beneficial for the future trainees if there were any OJT designated areas or quarters
where the interns can rest or have privacy in the workplace.

C.
Rating the system of OJT implementation in the university, I will give it a thumbs
down or a below average grade because of several factors including the late
announcements, inaccurate information and the most famous Filipino Time mentality of
the officers which leads to a meeting delayed for an hour and making the trainees stand
up for a long time. Aside from late announcements and random information, the
communication of the students and the officers where poor because the consultation
time are not announced. Another point for the improvement of the program is the time
for being able to attend OJT for summer is too short.
