Prerequisites: MATH 1326

Course Description: This course will introduce the concepts of probability


and statistics as they relate to managerial decision making. These concepts
will be developed via lectures and exercises using software packages.
Topics include: summarizing and presenting data, probability theory,
sampling, estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, regression,
and ANOVA. Emphasis will be given to modeling and solving problems in
Finance, Marketing, Accounting, and Operations Management.

Class Participation: Class attendance is not required but students are


responsible for any and all material covered during class.

Homework: Homework problems will be assigned and graded. Homework


will not be accepted after the assignment due date. Homework will comprise
30% of your final grade.

Exams: There will be 3 in class exams, the lowest one of which will be
dropped. NO MAKE-UP EXAMS WILL BE SCHEDULED. Exams will
comprise 70% of your final grade.

Grading Policy: Grades will be assigned base in the following cut-off


points.
