Diagnosis Method of Local Fault in Parallel and Planetary Gearbox
KONG Xiang-xin FENG Kun HU Ming-hui WANG Chen
(Diagnosis and Self-Recovery Engineering Research Center, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing 100029,
China)
Abstract The parallel gearbox and planetary gearbox are important transmission components of me-
chanical equipment, such as wind turbine, and it breaks down frequently. Based on the experimental
research method, the feature extraction method of parallel gear and planetary gear is studied con-
trastively. Firstly real-time vibration signal on gearbox is acquired with Compact-RIO. Then the char-
acteristic frequency of teeth-broken gear in parallel gearbox is extracted with resonance demodulation.
For the signal of teeth-broken gear in planetary gearbox, the transfer path of vibration is complex, the
signal is seriously non-stationary and non-linear, resonance demodulation fails to extract the character-
istic frequency. Finally EEMD technology for signal decomposition is used to avoid the aliasing caused
by traditional EMD mode, successfully extract the fault characteristic frequency.
